526.0. "Sign in 1997 Disneyland (California) visitors" by CSC32::B_GRUBBS () Mon Jan 27 1997 17:50

    Bert, Debbie, and Brian (1 yr old)
    May 28-June 1, 1997
    Flying United from Denver.
    Staying at Howard Johnsons across from the main gate.

    I have 2 unused Disneyland passes, Brian gets in free, flights are $100
    RT, and I HAVENT RIDDEN INDIANA JONES YET! What more reason does
    a guy need?  8^}

    Besides, it's alot cheaper for me to go to DL than WDW from Colorado, and
    we are wanted to wait till 1998 when the Animal Kingdom opens. Desperately
    trying to wait, I might add. A DL trip will soothe the 'itis'.

    My family just returned from our 1st trip to Disneyland. My 6 year old
    son loved all the thrill rides - Indiana Jones, Space/Splash/Thunder
    Mountains, Matterhorn, Gadget's Coaster. My 22 month old daughter loved
    the characters - she visited Minnie & Micky at their homes and hugged
    Pluto for at least 5 minutes !

    We were there for 1 1/2 days and bought the Flex Pass so we could get
    in at 6:30 AM and get a head start on the crowds. By 10 AM things were
    getting busy and in the evening when crowds were smothering, we enjoyed
    the awesome Lion King Parade, ate dinner, and toured the Swiss Family
    Treehouse for the 3rd time (my son watches the movie, frequently).

    Having worked at DisneyWorld during summer, Christmas and Easter
    breaks after my freshmen college year, I was curious to compare parks.
    Disneyland is smaller scale and it is very easy to see just about
    everything within 2 days, if you start early. DisneyWorld takes more
    time because it takes longer to walk everywhere. Both are lots of fun
    for the family.

    We flew Western Pacific's $89 mystery fare from Colorado Springs to
    LAX, caught the super shuttle to the Marriott Hotel, and rode the hotel
    trolley to the ticket entrance at the park. I am glad that I did not
    rent a car and fight traffic. We have many great memories of our visit.
