For an opposing view to .1, I and my wife find the food one
of WDW's major attractions. We plan our day around dining in
our favorite places. We never eat in any of the fast food
places on site, instead skipping eating until we can go somwhere
    and sit down and relax.

When we did a version of this (it was called "The Grand Plan"
and associated with a stay at the GF), I'm sure we did not
make out monetarily. Yet, we still thought it was "worth"
    it.

If the vacation is one where you can afford the extra expense
and not feel guilty (we haven't been able to do that in
a while :^)), then I think its a good thing. You can go wherever
you want and not worry about if you should have appetizers,
lobser, *and* desert. You can eat at the Empress Room or
Victoria and Alperts as much as you like. Etc. For special
vacations, this just adds to the relaxation - not having to
budget your meals on the fly.

Replies .4, .5, and .6 were originally notes 527.0, .1, and .2.
I think the former 527.0 was meant to be a REPLY to this topic, so
I moved it and its replies here.

We now return you to this topic. :-)

525.8what does the deluxe packet cover?MUNICH::SCHALLEREva Schaller *DSC* 895-6146Mon Feb 10 1997 10:4221
NO, it was not meant to be a reply, however I agree, that it fits here.
On the other hand, I have already written another note, which is now
note 29.219. When I looked for an answer, I didn't find the note
anymore and thought, that I have forgotten to do a CNTRL/Z.

So I tried again... and again the note disappeared (this time I had at
least a hint from the moderator, that he intends to move the note.)
So I found the new locations.

Being a heavy noter in several work related conferences, I never found
a note being moved without a pointer in the original note...
It was quite frustrating to make this experience, especially because
my original question is still not answered. I know now about the
weather in Florida (which I also wanted to know) and followed a
discussion how long the hurricans can be expected, but nobody seems
to have an answer about the deluxe packet.

I need info about price, performance and where to get it.

    Any takers?
    thanks and greetings eva
525.9Magic Kingdom Club plansDRAGNS::RMULAC::S_WATTUMScott Wattum - FTAM/VT/OSAK EngineeringMon Feb 10 1997 12:1043
There are actually 2 plans available; deluxe and classic. In addition, I think
these plans are only available to Magic Kingdom Club members (I could be wrong
though - the info I have came from the MKC guide).

Deluxe Plan Features:
o Nightly accomodations at a selected Disney resort hotel
o Unlimited admission to all three parks and all water parks during plan
o Unlimited use of all WDW recreational facilities (some restrictions)
o Breakfast, lunch and dinner each day (including tax and gratuity, excluding
alcohol) at a wide variety of WDW resturants.
o Mickey 'n You private photo session
o A copy of Birnbaum's WDW Guidebook

Classic Plan Features:
o Nightly accomodations at a selected Disney resort hotel
o Unlimited admission
o Hourly use of selected recreational activities at resort hotels
o New FLEX feature, which allows one of the following:
  - One half-hour use of watersprite, canopy or pontoon boat
  - Planet Hollywood T-Shirt
  - Quick and casual lunch or dinner
  - Disney Character breakfast
  - Mickey 'n You photo session
  - Gardens of the world or hidden treasure tour at Epcot
  - Nine holes of gold at Oak Trails
  - A copy of Birnbaums' guide

The plan prices depend on whether you choose the classic, deluxe, where you stay
and when you stay and how long. Also, the deluxe plan is not available at all
resort hotels.

So, for the time period you were looking at, for the deluxe plan for a 3 night
stay here are a few examples:

Resort Price/Adult	10-17yrs	3-9yrs
Old Key West $676 to $1358	$431 $246
Disney Institute Villas	$676 to $915	$431 $246
Polynesian Resort	$682 to $1019	$431 $246

They also have a Food 'n Fun plan, which basically just adds 2 meals a day to
your stay: $58/adult/day, $21/child/day(ages3-9) - two night minimum.

Also see topic 52 (to which I have just added the word "Deluxe" in the
title). It seems the Deluxe plan used to be called by other names (World,
Grand, etc.).

Although there currently isn't any recent information in topic 52, some of
the replies might give you a general idea of how people like the all-inclusive
type of plan.

My S.O. and I went to WDW last August on the Classic plan (we stayed at the
Beach Club), supplemented by some Food 'n' Fun coupons. I posted a reply to
the Food 'n' Fun topic (395) about our experience with that. The Classic plan
met our needs quite well. There was no way, given the limited time we had,
that we could've eaten enough or done enough activities to justify going on
the Deluxe plan.... :-)
