454.0. "Discussion of 1995 Disney Contest" by DECLB4::HOLMES () Mon Mar 13 1995 18:38

I thought I'd start up this topic since we had one last year, and I have
a question...

Is there some reason why we don't see any new clues for days, and then have
a whole bunch of them blasted in at once? I enjoyed the contest more when
there was one clue every day instead. Is it just a matter of not having the
time to do it once a day? Just curious...

    Tracy,

    There will be those days when I have the time to enter clues and
    there are days when I never get a chance to even check the
    conference.

    If everyone prefers the one a day method I'll go back to that but
    that also means that there will still be days when I may not get
    around to entering a clue.

How do the rules differ when there isn't a new clue for days? Do we still
get to guess once a day? Or do we have to wait for a new clue before we
can guess again, even if it's been several days?

454.3One per dayWREATH::SCOPATue Mar 14 1995 13:315
    One guess per day regardless of how many clues show up.

    Also, I waived the moderator rule.

< One guess per day regardless of how many clues show up.

And if clues turn up daily, then if I guess this morning about yesterday's
clue, and this afternoon there is a new clue posted, I can guess again?

Does "I have starred in" mean that the person is one of the (usually 2)
leads?

Would that mean that someone who might be up for a "best supporting"
actor/actress award would not fit that clue?

    Carol
454.6HOpe This HelpsWREATH::SCOPAThu Mar 16 1995 17:043
    It means that the person was prominent in the movie.

Sorry for not signing my name...

Hey, what's this Gary/Kim Hicks entry? If they get to team up and combine
their points [not that Gary's been much help yet ;-)], I want to team up
with someone too! :-)

    Kim's carrying me at this point. Should be just Kim though on
    the list.

    If we combine our scores we can get back in the lead ;)

in it?

    Can you do me a favor? when you put down who won it, can you put down
    what the answer was? I really hate going back and checking what that
    person's answer was. Thanks!!

    OK Mike, Now that Lady & the Tramp has been solved, tell us

    	" why don't you want to be near it at night" ?

    Inquiring minds want to know (my children and myself!)

    Thanks,

454.17You've heard This Before (from me)WREATH::SCOPAWed May 17 1995 11:429
    Heh, heh.

    Well Susan. Tony's is a great restaurant BUT you don't want to eat
    dinner there because the menu offers fewer choices than during the
    day, and the prices go up at night.

    Eat at Tony's before P.M.

    Oh yeah, I did know that. I read into the clue a bit and interpreted that
    you didn't want to be near the window! Thought it might change it's
    appearance at night or something.

    Thanks for clarifying!

    Susan

454.21Contest Withdrawal. :-(NODEX::HOLMESThu Dec 14 1995 09:568
So, who can do some of Mike's work for him so that he has more time for
important things like this contest? I'm totally stumped by this mystery
and can't wait to get on to the next one.

Now, if I were any of you, I'd wonder whether I had paid Mike off to stop
entering clues so that no-one would catch up to me and I could win the
contest!  :-)  (But, I didn't.  Honest!)
