Disney have signed up to broadcast the Disney Channel from Astra starting in August. 16 hours per day with no adverts. Subscription will be bundled with `Sky Movies and Movie Channel' package.

It was only a short news comment in a magazine but the way it read it is going to be part of the Sky packages so indeed you may be driven to do something slightly illegal depending on your location. I also believe that there is going to be a German language Disney Channel somewhere but can't remember the details. It may be using the same video channel but using different sound subcarriers ala Eurosport. But then the Autumn is a long way off and we all know what happened with the Disney Channel on BSB (that was). | |||||

RTL is starting Super RTL on the old RTL 4 transponder on Astra 1b. After RTL-International and RTL 2 it will be the third German channel from Luxembourg. Super RTL has a *BIG* contract with Disney and will start on March 1. ...Mc | |||||

The Disney Channel will start on satellite for the UK on October 1st, it will run between 6am and 10pm on the channel which is currently used for Sky Movies Gold and will be free to subscribers to Sky Movies and The Movie Channel (ie both). |
