| The Disney Marathon will be held January 16th, I don't know what type of effect
this will have on the parks since the starting time is something like 6:30AM
and they will close the course down (I think 5-6 hours later). But that
may conflict with people who really are there for a vacation.
(this is the first year of the marathon...so who knows what will happen).

| I wouldn't count on swimming. It can be pretty chilly in Orlando
in Jan. I grew up in Fla. in Ocala, and Jan is definitely not for
swimming. Orlando is a little warmer but not much, nothing like
Miami. Many places have heated pools so you could go swimming but
you probably will not have much of a desire unless you hit a rather
warm spell.

| you can generally tell the natives from the tourests.
we hop in the ocean in Daytona and find it warmer than the beaches in
Maine in the summer. But the natives think we're crazy.
Our kids enjoy all winter long.

| YOu miss the point, if the low is 45 degrees and only gets up to
70 maybe or cooler why would you want to swim ?? It is true that
natives in Florida especially in this area do almost all their swimming
in the warmest months only. I've lived in Mass for 15 years now
and swim up here in the ocean but I would not care to swim in
Orlando in Jan. unless you had a unusually warm day. The water will
probably be as warm as Maine Ocean water any time there, but that
is not warm. If it was 65 degrees out you are not likely to care that
much about swimming. And if the pool is not heated then expect
swimming pool tempetures to be quite chilly, cooler than the ocean
which is warmed by the gulf stream. The pool water could very well
be in the low 60's or cooler, significantly cooler than the ocean
off of daytona might be.

| Then again, you never know. I went there in January 92, and the
weather was coolish in the mornings, but frequently warmed up to the
mid-to-upper 80's. One day it got into the low 90's.
