338.1 | My Fantasy Hour | CUPMK::SCOPA | | Tue Apr 13 1993 11:46 | 14 |
| My one hour fantasy trip may seem real strange to all of you except for
maybe Peter Karam. Here it is:
I would want to be transported to a lounge chair right outside Old Port
Royal at the CBR at 11 P.M. In one hand I would have three Oatmeal
Cookies from the Food Court and in the other hand I would have a Dole
Whip.
I would spend the hour just relaxing and looking at the water and just
"vegging" without a care in the world.
Then at Midnight I would be returned.

338.2 | England's Pub | CTOAVX::EAST | | Tue Apr 13 1993 12:47 | 16 |
| Well, Mike, I can't decide what my fantasy hour would be BUT I do know
what my Husband Ron would desire. He would love to arrive 45 mins
before Luminations and be seated in a good viewing spot at the pub in
England sipping on his Favorite pint of Ale. I could see him relaxing
just sitting back sipping the pint of Ale and then Enjoying the
Luminations show. Then of course, he would be beamed back into the
real world.
One of Ron's objective on our Honeymoon was to have a Beer around the
World in EPCOT. We tried every country's beer and found that we liked
the English Pub the Best. It's fun to do it you are a beer lover.
Oh, to be back in WDW....

338.3 | Give me the Poly beach after DARK | JUNCO::ROBROSE | | Tue Apr 13 1993 15:38 | 9 |
|
My hour would be spent in a beach hammock at the Poly, torches in the
background facing the MK, watching the ferries drive back and forth,
seeing fantasy in the sky, listening to the water and the low hum of
the monorail, all while eating a hot fudge brownie sundae from Capt.
Cooks Ice Cream shop.

338.4 | Wishing I was there | CUPMK::JETTE | | Fri May 07 1993 15:46 | 17 |
| My first question is - can we answer this note more than once? :)
I'd have the transporter drop me at the beginning of Main Street USA in
the Magic Kingdom. I'd spend the hour strolling up main street -
taking in all the sights/sounds etc..... sit on a bench with an ice
cream - people watching - just taking it all in.
No matter how many times I go to WDW - The feeling of walking into the
MK - up Main Street is just the most unique feeling ever. I can't
describe it - but I feel it everytime I'm there. I think it's why I
still like MK the best!
Wishing on a star....

338.5 | No limit | CUPMK::SCOPA | | Fri May 07 1993 16:53 | 31 |
| Sure Kathy, you can answer as many times as possible.
Here are several more from yours truly...
...The transporter drops me off at a table nearby the buffet
table at the Contemporary Cafe Buffet...yum...in one hour
I could do some damage.
...The transporter drops me off in front of the castle 10
minutes after SM begins. After a 5 minute wait SP arrives
and just before the transporter whisks me back to reality I
marvel at "Fantasy in the Sky."
...The transporter whisks me to the AA pavillion in World Showcase
and I am watching the beginning of a performance by the Voices
of Liberty and then up to the AA.
...The transporter whisks me to Splash Mountain...after the big
drop. I'm in the very last log for the day...it's real late, a
Saturday night. I spend the rest of my time walking through the
Magic Kingdom as the park gets ready to close.
...The transporter whisks me to the front of The New Theater of
The Stars just as the curtain goes up for the maiden
performance of Beauty and the Beast at the new Theater.
...The transporter whisks my whole family to the Tangaroa Terrace
Restaurant on Mother's Day morning for a Mother's Day breakfast
noone would forget.

338.6 | Rocky Mountain Blue | JUPITR::TULLY | | Wed May 12 1993 12:09 | 7 |
| How about jumping into the transporter and being wisked to
Crocketts Tavern and into my reserved rocking chair sipping
on a Rocky Mountain Blue and some Buffalo wings! Of course
I would like it to be about 10:00pm with a nice cool breeze
and another RMB waiting in the wings!!!

to go. I'd like to try a Rocky Mountain Blue Too!

338.9 | What IS a Rocky Mountain Blue??? An Oyster???? | CFSCTC::CFSCTC::CONLIFFE | Better Than Life | Wed May 12 1993 22:15 | 30 |
| Crockett's Tavern is next to Pioneer Hall at Fort Wilderness. There's
a collection of wooden buildings in the style of the Olde Wilde West
(which isn Disney style are all joined at the back by a long kitchen).
Working from the bus-circle, there's
- the information, guest services and ticket windows
- Restrooms
- Pioneer Hall (Home of the Hoop-de-Doo Review)
- Trail's End Buffeteria (cafeteria food, salad, and Pizza to go at
night)
- Crockett's Tavern (actually one corner of the Buffeteria); fine
dining with a Western theme, plus all manner of Crockett
Memorabilia
- Crockett's video arcade (Davy himself played here)
What makes the place so attractive is that there is a wide porch around
the front and side of the building; running from Pioeer Hall all the
way round to the video arcade. It's shady during the day, even.
There's rocking chairs and benches on the proch, and you can go buy
stuff in the buffeteria and drag it out onto the ledge to drink. You
watch the travellers go by. During the day, you gets the people going
to Water Country; at night, you get the weary parents carrying sleeping
children back to the campers, you get the crowds going to see the
Hoop-de-Doo... all in all it is a wonderful place. It is surprisingly
calm (as is most of Fort Wilderness).
Crockett's Tavern isn't really a show or an attraction; it's just a
neat place to hang out!

338.10 | | RAGMOP::LOWELL | Grim Grinning Ghosts... | Wed May 12 1993 23:45 | 5 |
| Another cool thing about Crockett's Tavern...
for something like $7 you can get one of their specialty drinks in
a boot-shaped, souvenir Hoop-Dee-Doo glass. What more can you ask
for?
|
338.11 | a few more | MR4DEC::AWILLIAMS | It's a duck blur... | Fri May 14 1993 10:52 | 24 |
| Here's one...
I'd be transported to the VIP seating on the balcony of the Disney
Gallery in Disneyland just as the announcement is being made that
FANTASMIC! begins in 10 minutes. I'd watch the show and after it was
over, slowly make my way out of the park, just taking all of it in as
the park closes for the night.
And another...
My wife and I would be whisked to any one of the restuarants on the
Empress Lily just as our dinner is being served in the inimitable
Disney style.
And a last one...
We'd be dropped off at the entrance to EPCOT just as the park opens.
The fanfare is playing over the speakers; the grass is still wet with
morning dew; and the crowd is minimal. We have an hour to wander
through our favorite parts of Future World, the Living Seas and
Imagination pavilions. We're whisked back as we shout, "We didn't have
enough time!!"

338.12 | I could go for a blue right now!! | JUPITR::TULLY | | Mon May 24 1993 12:26 | 12 |
| When I was there last September they had don away with the "boots"
to hold the drinks. I was kind of bummin' because I had planned on
bringing back a few to make a set!! They now serve drinks in a canning
jar styled mug. Still a nice western touch. I think it was Nigel who
explained the "Tavern" to a T.
As for thr ole' Rocky Mountain Blue", I have no idea what's in it. It's
a sweeter type of drink that goes down like a fruit punch but unlike a
fruit punch it's blue, as the name would indicate. They are sooooooooo
gooooooooooooooood!!!! Grab a "blue" and a chair and enjoy the night!!

338.13 | EPCOT IN THE AM! | CTOAVX::EAST | | Mon Jun 07 1993 09:08 | 13 |
| I would like to be beamed down in EPCOT Center just as the gates open.
The morning is clear and not too hot. The crowds are light and you can
hear the fountains and the music all around you. Just strolling around
trying to decide which way your day should progress. I most likely
would go towards the land and grab something to eat. Enjoying the
atmosphere before everything is full of crowds. I also would enjoy a
stroll around the "Worlds" at that time too.
Oh Decisions; Decisions.

338.14 | Did someone say "lunchtime??!!" | JUPITR::TULLY | | Tue Jun 15 1993 12:14 | 8 |
| It's lunch time and I'm starving!!! I think I'll hop into the
transporter and set it for the Beaches and Cream food emporium.
I can taste that double cheeseburger and fries right now. Of
course a nice think frappe to wash it all down...or should I
have an ole fashioned bottle of coke instead?? Decisions,
decisions!!

338.15 | 3H's = Cap'n Jacks | ASABET::MORRISON | Now is the time ... | Thu Jul 08 1993 16:15 | 16 |
|
Since the weather today in New England is hot and humid (similar to FL) I'd
set the transporter coordinates for Cap'n Jack's Oyster Bar located at the
Disney Village Marketplace. This is a must for my wife and I. It is usually
very quiet and relaxed at about this time, 2-3 p.m.
We'd have a table with a view of the Empress Lilly as the sun steams through
the narrow-slatted blinds and glints on the polished tables. The Float-boats
and Water Sprites are motoring about while we work on our second "frozen
strawberry margarita" and finish the shrimp cocktail and oysters/clams on the
half-shell.
Sounds like a plan ...

338.16 | Dole Whip and J.P.'s All-Stars | WREATH::SCOPA | | Fri Jul 09 1993 10:51 | 6 |
| Picking up on BIll's thoughts my transporter hour is set so that I
land in front of Aloha Isle about 10 minutes before J.P. and the
All-Stars do their thing in front of the Caribbean Plaza. I grab a
Dole Whip, find a seat and just sit back and listen to those drums.

| I'm hit with the itis BAD.
I've entered the transporter - it has left me sitting at a table
outside the bakery in France (EPCOT). I'm sipping coffee - nibbling
pastry and feeding some of the birds as I watch people come and go.
Sigh,

338.18 | Energize NOW! | FPTWS1::ABRAMS | Dr. Frankenclinton and algore | Fri Jul 16 1993 13:59 | 12 |

Coordinates set...energize. I'm at EPCOT, walking in the main entrance
with Spaceship Earth looming overhead, surrounded by the background music
and landscaping... A ride on Horizons... and a walk around World Showcase.
Stop along the way for a pastry in Norway or France, and end up watching
Character Carnival as I get beamed up.
Sigh... that's not enough time for Impressions du France.

| Its July 4, its 1 minute before 9 and we beam in to the edge of the balcony at the Top of the
World. We can hear the music and see both the lagoon and the castle fireworks from here. No one
beats Disney for 4th of July.

338.23 | It's beginning to look like a Mickey Christmas! | CTOAVX::EAST | | Wed Dec 22 1993 12:26 | 10 |
| I've beamed down just as the Christmas parade in Magic Kingdom is
beginning to start. (I have been to Mickey's Merry Christmas Party
twice. It's usually the first or second weekend in December) I have a
perfect view, no pushing or shoving. Just enjoying the music, parade
and generally getting into the Christmas spirit!. As the hour is up I
see the Giant Chirstmas Tree in the center of Main Street fade away...
Happy Mickey Christmas everyone!
