| As I mentioned in topic #51, I spent some time (about 8 hours) at
Disneyland last Saturday, Feb. 13.
I have been to Disneyland quite a few times, since I used to live only
a few miles away. Plus, it used to be semi-affordable. ($28.50!)
It was a spur-of-the-moment visit (I was on business at the Culver
City office last week and stayed over to drop the $$ plane fare $$)
so I had made no Digital discount arrangements.
Anyway, the only new thing I noticed that really stood out was "Toon
Town." Unfortunately, while it is open, it doesn't seem to be
completed. They have a really nice gift store, a couple of small
rides, and several sort of melted/cockeyed little buildings to run
through. But most of the buildings were locked, which leads me to
believe the exhibit as a whole isn't finished.
I think this place will definitely appeal more to the very small
kids, since most of us adults, even under the Disney influence,
don't get much of a kick out of running through little buildings. ;^)
As many times as I had gone, I had never visited the Lincoln
animatration (sp?) before. It was quite excellent! Also interesting
are the Disney offices (trucked down from Burbank) in the lobby.
The same furniture and so on used by Disney lo! these many years
ago. His "working" office and his "ceremonial" office.
But I'm sure you all have seen Disneyland even more times than I
have. It's a wonderful place, though I tend to think of it as
`Disney-line.' Saturday was no exception; 1 3/4 hours for Splash
Mountain. That's too long. And we crowds were so thick it
ultimately got difficult to walk. That's the down side.
But it was, after all, Disneyland - the happiest place on earth! ;^)

Who: me, hubby Jeff, son Jaime [9.5] and daughter Shaina [5.75]
When: July 6-7, 1993
Why then?: We were in Pasadena for brother-in-law's wedding; took
us <1 hr in rush-hour traffic to get there by 9:20AM, closed the

Kids' reactions: "Mom, can we go back tomorrow?" this from the

2nd time.
