Well, I've finally been stumped. Someone came up with a Disney question that I couldn't answer, so I'm turning to the conference for help. What is the name of the Donald Duck shaped hot-air balloon that Disney uses for various promotions? I'm talking about the free flying giant balloon, not the large cold air balloons that are used in parades and for "Surprise in the Skies" at EPCOT Center. The other two hot-air balloons I recall are the Mickey shaped one named "Ear Force One", and the new castle shaped one called "Castle in the Clouds". I just can't remember the name of the Donald balloon. Are there any others?

If I'm not mistaken, I believe the Donald balloon was called " Zip a dee doo Duck. " At least, that's what I remember then calling the thing when it blew into Boston a couple years back. | |||||

This is an interesting trivia bit I picked up hanging around Ornage County Airport. The Walt Disney Company has one of the largest corporate aircraft fleet in the USA. Most of the fleet is home based in Burbank. The Disney Air Force includes a Boeing 737, several LearJets, and Bell Jet Ranger Helicopters. The distinctive markings of the Disney fleet is the tail number. The last two letter of all their aircrafts registration are MM. One would look like this "N123MM" If you're ever in Burbank Airport, Orange County Airport, or (I imagine) Orlando, look for bizjets with tail numbers ending in MM. -Rick |
