64.0. "For Sale/Trade/Wanted - Policy in .0" by SALEM::BERUBE_C (Good Morning WDW!, in 54 days) Tue Mar 03 1992 18:25

                         *** NEW POLICY PLEASE READ ***

    This topic is set aside for the sale/trade/wanted of items by
    Disney Noter's.

    NOTE #1. Please note, Conference guidelines allow the posting of for
    Sale/Trade/Wanted/etc of employee items provided that the primary
    purpose is not for a business venture. The moderators reserve the
    right to delete any note which violates, or appears to violate, this
    guideline, at the discretion of the moderator.

    NOTE #2. Please refrain from posting ANY TICKET MEDIA for
    sale/trade/wanted/etc items such as Event Tickets, Airline Tickets,
    Disney World/Land passports or coupons whether or not they are
    considered as non-transferable by Disney and/or others and marked as
    such. Should you feel it necessary to post this info please post it to
    those Conferences which allow it or take it to the classified section
    of your local newsletter or DTW. Any posting to this nature whether in
    this topic or elsewhere in the conference will be deleted by the
    moderators and returned back to the author. The reason for this is
    that Disney has been known to take legal action in the past, and we
    don't need to get Digital in a lawsuit with Disney concerning trading
    etc. of world passport taking place in this file.

    NOTE #3. Old notes requesting info/itmes/etc by a certain date, whose
    date has past will be deleted by the moderators as time permits.

64.7Rain panchosWRKSYS::LHAGENLaissez les bons temps roulez!Wed Apr 16 1997 09:298
Does anyone know where (or what kind of stores) I can buy some of those
flimsy rain panchos? We had some leftover from HersheyPark last summer, but
we can't find them, and I was hoping to bring them to WDW.

I suppose I can always just hope for good weather, and buy some at WDW when
we get there if/when we need them.

    Lori,

    Funny you should mention the ponchos. Last week I almost bought a
    poncho pak at B.J.'s Wholesale. The Pak had 4 ponchos of different
    colors. The pak sold for $10....but I think we may opt for Disney
    ponchos again.

    Last October we purchased them at the disney outlet store for $1.00 --
    We asked the lady if it was a special and she said they have them most
    of the time...they where right by the register

You could purchase them right out of your room at the CBR. They were located
right next to the mugs and were $5 each. Luckily we never needed them.

    Raquel,

    I think Pat means the Character Warehouse store at Belz...right Pat?

    Hope so 'cause I need some new ponchos.

64.14HAMMAR::JACOBWed Apr 30 1997 15:5810
    that's right...the character warehouse....I spent a small fortune
    there...did most of my present buying...it was great...

    On the topic of grocery store...I know most people stay on property but
    we stay off and have a timeshare right on Rt192. I found out where the
    real people buy there food. If you go down Rt192 from disney down
    through what looks like all the strip mall shopping and restaurants
    about 15 minutes down the road is the biggest Walmart/grocery store you
    have ever seen. WOW. great food and cheap prices...After we found
    this last time we never went into a goodings again.
64.15Publix?DONVAN::SCOPAThu May 01 1997 11:383
    I think the grocery store you're talking asbout is Publix.

    Mike
64.16Walmart it is!NETCAD::BUCCIARELLILisa Bucciarelli DTN 226-5098Thu May 01 1997 13:0613
re. -.1 and -.2

Nope. Although there are two Publix stores on 192, he was referring to the new
Walmart that appeared sometime over the past year. It's just past Medieval
Times on the same side of the road. Prices are MUCH cheaper than Publix but
the variety is limited. They didn't even carry canned mushrooms!

You also have to shop in multiple sections of this HUGE complex if you are
getting more than just food (for example, I had to get toothpaste and Q-tips,
which were located about a mile away from the groceries!). You only checkout
in one place and I found it less congested than Publix.

    Lisa,

    Was 192 a problem with construction and traffic? Sounds like you're
    talking about Kissimmee.

    Mike
64.18Really wasn't that bad for vacation week!NETCAD::BUCCIARELLILisa Bucciarelli DTN 226-5098Thu May 01 1997 14:5611
Mike,

You are correct...I was talking about Kissimee. The only construction that I
remember is up where 192 gets to 4 and Disney was working on the Sports
complex.

As far as traffic is concerned, it didn't seem too busy (this was last week).
My only problem was that 192 is 45 mph...much too slow for a Massachusetts
495 commuter!

    re: the super wal*mart...

    when we were in florida a couple of years ago, we drove down to port
    charlotte (from orlando....what a ride!!!!) and stopped at a wal*mart
    superstore...i thought it was great! there are so many time when i
    go to the store that i need groceries and items that could be either
    bought at wal*mart (2 stores down from the shop 'n save) or at the
    grocery store at a higher price...this solves that problem. i just
    wish we'd get some up here!!
