285.0. "Making Music Videos at WDW" by 32025::SCOPA (I'd rather be in Orlando) Tue Oct 29 1991 11:47

Are there any other hams out there besides myself who have made music
videos in either Pleasure Island or MGM? Each location has a place
which lets you choose a song and puts you in a studio and lets you
either actually sing or lip-sync a song or two.

We made four of these last year and I heartily recommend doing so
because it will forever be a memento of your trip down there.

Last year the who family did "Kokomo", my daughter sang "Tomorrow", my
son and daughter did "Vogue" with my son on the drums, and yours truly
performed, "Somewhere Out There" with my daughter...me on keyboard.

I thought I'd start this note for the purpose of...

o Informing the noters of these two shops (names escape me).

o Letting people relate their experiences making music videos.

285.1Highly RecommendedCSTEAM::STEINHARDTThu Oct 31 1991 11:3714
My family and I made a video at Pleasure Island last May, doing "Love
Shack" by the B52s. It was fun, and came out great, well worth it, I
highly recommend doing a video. What I think made it successful was that
I had picked up their available song sheet on a prior visit, let the family
vote on what song they would want to do prior to the trip, and we
practiced. The staff at PI must have liked it, because we saw it
broadcast not only the night that we recorded it, but also later in the
    week.

    See my trip report, 237.14.

    Cheers,
    Ken

I'm going to try and find the song sheet I got back in 1990. I'll try
and list some songs so anyone interested in making a video (hmmm,
Claude doing a Milli Vanilla song....) can start practicing.

Do either of these places offer "Little Mermaid" songs to make videos
by? I would think there would be a rash of little girls who want to
    record some of Ariel's songs.

Could "Beauty and the Beast" be far behind?

I did "Kokomo" with my neice in August 1990. Its was fun. She was
8 years old and I was older. Entertainment-wise its great. Everytime
my neice sees it she wants to do one without me. I can't understand
it. I knew all the words.

    Lotsa fun!

I'm going to try and find the song sheet I got back in 1990.

Any luck, Mike? I'll be driving down soon and would love to know what
they have so we could practice on the way.

    Yep,

I've got all the music and all the words to all the songs from the
Movie. If anyone is in need of the music send me mail and I'll be happy
to make you copies. The music is for piano/keyboard.
