281.0. "New Guide -- WDW Vacation Cards" by GEMINI::GIBSON () Wed Oct 16 1991 23:11
Sucker that I am, while visiting the new Barnes and Noble Store in Nashua
I picked up a new kind of WDW guide. Called "JP's Original See & Do
Vacation Cards for Florida's Walt Disney World", the package contains
220 color-coded cards for "every" (except the new stuff) ride,
restaurant, hotel, or other destination in WDW.
The idea is to use the information on the cards to plan your day. There
are two key rings and four separator cards for four days of touring.
By loading the cards onto the rings in the planned order of touring,
informaitn is at your fingertips and less cumbersome than a book.
The information from a card:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Theme Park
Backlot Annex
Epic Stunt Spectacular
****
(Fun for Kids)
See reenactments of Indiana Jones' death-defying stunts and most
exciting scenes!
LOCATION: Under the giant Indiana Jones billboard across from Gertie
(the giant dinosaur in Echo Lake).
NEAREST ATTRACTIONS: The Monster Sound Show (Lakeside Circle), Star
Tours.
NEARVY SNACKS: Backlot Express, Dinosaur Gertie's Ice Cream of
Extinction (Lakeside Circle), Tune In Lounge (Lakeside Circle).
NEARBY FAST FOOD: Backlot Express, Hollywood & Vine (Hollywood Blvd.).
NEARBY SIT-DOWN MEAL: 50's Prime Time Cafe (Lakeside Circle).
NEAREST RESTROOM: In the corrugated metal hut, between the Monster
SoundShow and the Star Tours attraction.
JP'S CHALLENGE: Can you watch the whole show without closing your eyes?
Eye can't!
------------------------------------------------------------------------
On the back is a map of the Lakeside Circle area with the Stunt
Spectacular highlighted. REST ROOMS are emphasized on this map.
Also in the box is a folder with a compilation of hints -- basically
an outline of those found in this conference.
These cards might be handy and easier to carry around than a book, but
do not provide enough information by themselves to successfully plan a
trip to WDW. At $21.95 per set, they are rather expensive.
My vote -- don't anyone else waste the money!!
