277.0. "Magic Years Club" by TYGER::GIBSON () Tue Sep 10 1991 09:28
In the Fall 1991 issue of Disney News is a new offer for seniors (over
60). Called the Magic Years Club, a lifetime membership costs $30.
The benefits seem to be almost the same as for the MKC:

                  - up to 25% discount on select WDW accomodations
                  - 10% discount at the Disney stores
                  - Magic Key Newsletter
                  - Free use of kennels at WDW and Disneyland
                  - 50% discount for Discovery Island
                  - Savings on Delta Airlines, National Car Rental,
                    and cruises

Discounts are good for the member and one guest.

Members receive a plastic membership card, key chain, tote bag, decal,
    and bumper sticker.

To join by phone, call (714)490-3250 Monday through Friday 8:00 AM
through 4:30 PM Pacific time. They accept Mastercard, Visa, and
    American Express.

Not a bad deal if you know some seniors who like Disney -- would make
    a nice gift.

| | I think this is a nice offer and plan to get one for may folks for
Christmas. Mom will get a big kick out of it.

Did you notice that they offer a discount for Discovery Island but not
Typhoon Lagoon? My dad is a senior but does the water slides here in
New England and has done Wet n Wild with my son. Not to go down a rat
hole but is Disney stereotyping our seniors? It was just a thought.

I wonder if the card is similar to the MKC Gold Card?
