This will be our first trip with the kids (my wife and I went to
Disneyland in '79) and we are really looking forward to it. When we
started planning our trip I spent a lot of time reading in this
notesfile as well as the Birnbaum book and brochures from travel
agents. After becoming somewhat confused by the vast amount of
different packages available we decided that the best thing for us
would be to determine how long we wanted to be there and what we
wanted to do there and then find a package that closely matched our
agenda! And we did! We chose a Vacation Kingdom Holiday at the
Contemporary through the MKC club card I got at DEC!

Totally sold on Disney after our first visit in July '89. The
'Holiday of a Lifetime, Never to be Repeated' visit rapidly became
an exploratory trip to lay the groundwork for many future visits.
Back at Christmas '89, because we had to make more use of the
Annual Passports. Gave it a miss this year, but can't hold out any
longer. Have Annual Passport renewal certificates at the ready,
Disney News whetting the appetite and the Notes to keep us up to
date. If only Orlando was closer to the UK, then we could nip over
for long weekends and short breaks. As it is, the length of the
flights and school holidays mean we can only get over at peak
periods so we need long visits to do everything (Shame!).

I called Central Reservations last night. Would you believe that all of the

that they are celebrating the 20th anniversary next week but so far there
are no details.
Luckily, the Port Orleans is scheduled to open June 1 and it had two weeks
available. If anyone is planning on being in Orlando on October 1 and staying
at the Disney hotels, better make your reservations now.

It seems that Florida can expect yet another 'Invasion Of The

according to our in-house AMEX travel-agent. We want to go
again in September, and they're advising us to book NOW, just
to make sure we can get the exact flights we want!
I also want to watch the Superbowl final on TV in the USA for
once - I'm fed up with having to watch it in the early hours
of the morning over here in the UK. I hope it's on when I'm
there, my fingers are firmly crossed as I'm not sure of the
exact date.

Well, you see, we just bought a GMC Safari Van which will let us drag
the ol' camping trailer on long journeys in glorious, sumptious comfort
(compared to the ol' Nissan pickup truck, anyway!!).
The first time we went to Disneyworld as a family we stayed in one of
the rental tailers at FW. It was great. The second time, we stayed in
the newly opened Carribean Beach Resort, and it was great too. This
time, we're takig our own little slum-away-from-slum...er, home-away-
from-home with us, and it promises to be the best yet.
Neither of us have ever been to Disneyworld at or near Christmas; if
anyone has any odd pieces of advice, feel free to send MAIL.
By the way, fellow campers, the preferred loops are already full for
Christmas week!!!
Now, where's that countdown program when I want it????

out a week, were getting pretty booked up.
In fact when I got back from my last trip I was too depressed to
write a trip report but now I know I'm booked to go back I shall
post in a short report (albeit a year late) and let you know the
gory details of my car crash, my husband's snake bite.......!!!)

anniversary. Can't wait to see all the changes since our last
visit (December '89) and I'm hoping that they still have the Electrical
Parade then since we've never seen it (they didn't have it during previous
trips in Dec '89 and January '88). Also looking forward to being in
Florida when it's *WARM*. We had unusually cold weather (for Florida)
on both our previous trips.

we were living in LA. I can't imagine life without a Disney trip to

passes. We wanted to be able to go into WDW all the days we are down
there. Also, the children will be just getting out of school then.

This is our second trip to WDW, our first being in March 1984.
Warning to the Novice traveler...Don't do what I do.
My trip planning and time schedules are not for the faint hearted as those
who know me from the RV notesconference will confirm.
In true Carlson "spur of the moment" fashion, I have pulled off an April 91
school vacation trip to Walt Disney World complete with preferred campsite
in Fort Wilderness (I made the reservations last night 3/27) I didn't call
yet to push for a site number because I couldn't find my map of FW.
Our reservations are for 5 nights starting Sunday 4/14-Friday Morning 4/19.
I also made reservations for the 10PM Hoop Dee Doo on Tuesday April 16 and hope
to snag a cancellation for a 7:30 show either Monday or Tuesday.
We leave Leominster in the wee hours of Friday morning on April 12.
Coming back, we leave Florida early on 4/19 and drive to my sister's house
in Wilmington NC.
Leave Wilmington early ?? on 4/20 and drive straight through back to
Leominster, Mass arriving in the wee hours of Sunday 4/21..
Monday 4/22 Kids back to school, and what's left of Ma + Pa back to work.
Now you know why this isn't recommended for the squeemish..
I peeked last night and the Jayco is still in the side yard. This weekend
it will somehow traverse 100 feet of sloppy yard, with hopefully minimal
destruction to prepare for the trip..repack bearings,check tires + lights,
and also put in the new faucet I neglected to put in last year.
Anybody else heading to WDW at that time?
Does anyone know if they are still having Mesquito problems down there?
Kids are a bit bummed because Space Mountain is closed.

7 nights. I have been to Disneyland twice (DECUS, y'know), but never
to the REAL THING. Husband was to Disneyworld when a wee creature.
Anticipated highlights include: Anniversary dinner at Victoria and
Albert's (yes, we've read the prices; full speed ahead and darn the
torpedoes), HOOP-DE-DOO (reservations already made),
and everything else..... This notes file is great! Helps
add to our anticipation and organize our plans.

We only decided to do it today!! I have enough frequent flyer miles to
get the three of us there on American Airlines. Also (and please let
me know if you think this is a good deal): there was an ad in the
Disney Channel Magazine "Stay at a select Walt Disney World Resort for
five nights or more, and each adult (up to two) receives a FREE six-day
unlimited Super Pass to all seven Disney theme parks and attractions
when accompanied by a child (max of two children per room)." So...
I called tonight (1-407-W-DISNEY x72) and made reservations to stay for
six nights at the campground $104/night (including tax) and this
includes one adult and one child six-day unlimited Super Pass. (We'll
have to buy one pass at the ticket window $170 - if we had another kid, we
wouldn't have to buy the extra ticket - maybe I should rent a kid!)
The fellow said that when we arrive at the guest relations desk they
will have our reservation and the two passes.
I asked several times if I had to show the advertisement or prove that
I got the Disney channel.. he said no. Is this too good to be true?

response to our pictures of the afternoon parade, she will be loads
of fun to be with. We are talking excitement to the extreme. And
Andy is another story. We figure he'll be more excited than Lindsay.
Put it this way, he gets excited about his job at a video store.
WDW should put him over the edge. As for our Andrew, if he's anything
like his sister was on her first trip, he will sleep through most

| I'm Mark Stevens, who has been a read only Disneyholic for about 6-9
months. Anyway, I just returned from Disney World (my 3rd trip since
1987) and am still sky high.
My trips included March of '87, October of '89, and this past week.
I have two children, 12 and 3, and my wife who is a Disney lover as
well. We all can't wait to go again, probably in April of '92 if not
before.
I stayed at the CBR for the first time this trip and will not stay
outside the park again. It was a fantastic experince and the new
parades and Spectacle in the Sky at EPCOT were also something else.
How can I make it through the year without going again???

I was pleasantly surprised when I called Monday night and there were
rooms still available at CBR - esp. for Saturday night! Must be
everybody's in the new hotels - or the recession is hitting them...

Why: Frequent flyer miles expiring, time to use coupons for free
flights, hotel, car rental
Tough decision: To leave the kids home for the weekend while mom & dad
go to WDW (I suppose that this means that we have to
at least buy holiday presents for them there)
Last trip: Last May (91), with the kids, for a week
Where to be found: In the Adventurer's Club, Saturday night 12/14.....
