| If I can be of any help to anyone in th South of England I would
be only to willing.
I'm an avid reader of this notesfile. I have visited WDW only once
which was for 1 week last year (and I committed the biggest offence
of not posting a trip report).
I am going again this year in September for 2 weeks a lot wiser
armed with Birnbaums and the Unofficial Guide. (and a trip report
will be posted this time).
So if I can help anyone give us a bell on 7830-3650

| Hi!
I think this is a super idea, Mike!
I'd be more than willing to help anyone planning a trip. I'm located
in DEC Park, Reading and my practical experience includes a week
doing Disney World in September '87 and a further week in April '90.
I consider myself a Disneyholic, but don't profess to be as learned on
the subject of Disney as some of the contributors of this notesfile.
What I lack in text books, I make up for in "hands-on" experience and
have lots of "must dos" and one or two "bewares" I could share with
you. Feel free to mail me on:
o xnogov::karen
or
o wessex::karen / karen@wessex
and I'll do my best to help.
Karen
PS If you have any questions on things outside Disney, like hotel
locations, where to eat etc etc, I'll be only too pleased to
share my experiences on these with you too.

| Hi Chris,
Nice to find out you're a regular reader. Haven't heard from you
since you visited Holland a few months ago.
Why didn't you tell me that you were a Disney-fan.
I Visited WDW only once in August 87 and was very impressed by all the
overwhelming attractions.
I liked the Haunted Mansion very much and the firwork at the end of the
day was also great.
Does anyone know if there's something like that at Disneyland as well?
Here's my respond to the topic of this note, please send me all the
material available on how to get from LA to Anaheim. Rent-a-car or is
there any regular service (busses or somthing like that)?
My girlfriend and I have planned a visit in september this year
for Disneyland.
We also plan to visit Universal studios. Programs etc. on this are very
welcome to.
PS. Also US MKC members, WD fanatics etc. pls feel free to send
material and suggestions to:

| LA is a big city. We travelled down from Universal to Disneyland
in one go, about 45 miles. We had a hire car with my wife navigating
a bit mind-blowing through the centre of LA but we made it.
We stopped at Universal the day after we arrived, temperatures about
90F. We didn't do the place justice, a full day is required, we
saw about 1/2 of it! The tram ride is the best bit, but do go on
a weekday, when they film. I can only recommend Disneyland as worth
while I havn;t been to Florida, yet. The fireworks go on each evening
after the parades, great stuff. I envy you.
Mail me if you need any more California info, we spent three weeks
there.
Cheers Richard (Basingstoke).

| Hi Hans,
Good to hear you are a Disney fan! It appears that you will be on
the West Coast at Disneyland the same time as I am on the East Coast
at Disneyworld. Perhaps we will meet up again at EuroDisney when
it opens! Can you imagine the French being as polite as the Disney
staff in the U.S.!!!!!

If so, pls contact me.
Cheers.

After having suffered the ultimate disappointment of cancelling
our planned Florida holiday just a few days before we were
scheduled to go - we are now re-scheduled to go in just 17
days (pauses to emit piercing scream of joy).
So, if there are any Brits who want any *small* items brought
back, such as park guides, discount leaflets etc etc, feel free
to send me a mail and I'll do my best to stuff them in the
no-doubt bulging suitcase and send them via internal mail on
my return (IF I return that is!)

We went to Disneyworld this May. I was fortunate (?) enough to
have Mr Whitaker as one of many advisors on what to see and do.
If only we had the time to do it all! Still We shall return,
maybe 1992. Unfortunately we missed the opening of Universal
Studios by a couple of weeks.
We (husband, two kids aged 11 and 8 and me) went on a Thomson
package and found it very good. We flew with Virgin direct to
Orlando and spent a week in a self catering apartment at
Kissimee and a week at St. Pete's on the Gulf. This included
free car hire for the two weeks. One tip is to book early, we
wanted three weeks but could only get two, so we had to cram
quite a lot in.
Happy to help anyone who needs info.

| Not sure if I am in the right place, but here goes anyway!!.
My wife and I are going to Orlando in 52 days time ( WHO's
counting???). Never having visited there before, and not being quite
youngsters(in our 50's ) and having just discovered this notesfile
TODAY!! I am not only confused, but am also a little apprehensive as to
wether I have made the most sensible arrangements.
You see, being a bit of an Idiot,I thought that I could
arrange things cheaper doing it my way,now I'm not so sure.
I have booked 7 nights ( last week of august ) in the
Hyatt Orlando and 7 nights in the Hyatt Sarrosotta, I can see no
reference to either of these hotels in this notes file, does this
mean that they are not worthy of mention? am I going to regret my
choice? and is my holliday going to be a disaster from the outset??
Is disney just geared to cater to the YOUNG? Or are there
people of my age bracket there ( without children)?
Are the Hotels easy to find for a stranger driving a strange
car on a strange side of the road??
Can my wife and I walk unmollested at night and if so WHERE?
I am going to try and get this " Package" from Shiella
Fantozzi, knowing my luck they will either be all gone or for hotel
discounts that I am not staying in!!
I am not normally a pessimist, but I just know its going
to rain throughout my stay,I'll probably get a tummy bug,an ear
infection could be on the cards and I just know that I shall get
rheumatism from all that rain!!! Still so long as there is a bottle
of Millers handy I will suffer it!!
Anyway, any help anyone can give would be greatly appreciated
as I realy am apprehensive.

| Hi Tony
Don't worry - Disney caters for ALL age groups and you'll love it!
My parents adored it last year.
As for the package from Sheila - I got mine very quickly indeed,
without any problems.
So my advise is buy yourself a Birnbaum (sp??) guide and drink in
as much of this coneference as you can before you go and you'll have a
wonderful time.
Best regards,
Karen

| Hello UK-Disney-ites,
Help and advice greatly appreciated!
My wife, two young terrorists masquerading as my 7 and 10 year old sons
and myself are planning a trip to Florida in May/June 92.
Currently the plan is to reside for two weeks in Orlando..hopefully in
one of the apartments posted in notes..and to exhaust the boys with a
week in WDW and a week visiting other attractions Seaworld,Cape
Canaveral etc. We then intend to move off to explore other bits of the
Sunshine State ie Miami, Everglades, Keys etc.
If anyone has had or is planning a similar trip I would be grateful for
the chance of a chat.
Cheers

I went to WDW in April/May 89 and fell in love with every thing there.
We were there when Disney/MGM studios opened but before Typhoon Lagoon.
This March we went to California and visited Disneyland in Anahiem. I
am now waiting for Euro-Disney to open but can't decide whether to go
or not. i.e France is expensive and I think I'd rather save up and
re-visit Florida.
I love talking about Disney and will willing offer any advice to any
one going out to the US.

210.18 | Hello from Brazil | VAXSPO::SARITA | | Fri Feb 21 1992 09:58 | 19 |
| Hi.
My name is Sarita and I'm another Disneyholic in this world.
I'm very happy to find a non-us Disneyholic space to exchange
experiences with all of you (although it seems that almost only english
people like Disney outside US!)
I've been in love with the Disney Parks for more than 10 years now.
My first visit was to Disneyland, in December/1980.
After that I've been in Disneyworld another 4 times: Oct/87, Dec/89,
Feb/91 and Oct/91.
It's interesting to tell you that a trip to Florida (from Brazil) is
cheaper than to travel inside our country, so Disneyworld became one of
the most popular vacations for Brazilians.
I have a lot of material concerning Disney, and a vast experience being
there.
Whoever would like to talk to me about it, I would love to do so.
My mail adress is VAXSPO::SARITA, as I don't use to access the notes
files quit usually.
Regards,
Sarita.

| Hello Sarita,
Welcome to the conference. Although you say that you don't
access notes very often, please contribute as much as possible.
Any information in here is then accessible to all Disneyholics.
Warning! You will find some (Very) negative comments about
Brazilian Tour Parties in this conference (From myself included!).
There is something very intimidating about a large party of
identically clad people all with a single purpose - Example, there
are 50 of us and we are ALL going to get Minnie's autograph! - so
whenever this has happened to me, I've tended to get rid of my
frustration by some comment in the notes.
Perhaps you could describe the schedule for a typical
tour, and then knowing what timescales you are working to, we may
be more tolerant in future.
Sorry again for any comments I've made, they aren't meant
personally!
Mike B. in Warrington UK.

| Hi, All!
My name is Atsushi Takahashi, at Digital Japan, and a Disneyholic
outside US (we call them "Desney-OTAKU").
I live near Tokyo Disney Land (TDL). From 8:23pm every night, I hear
sound of fireworks from TDL.
I visit TDL 2 or 3 times a year with my wife. Last summer we visited
Euro Disney in Paris, and visited Disneyland in Anaheim last month.
We are planning to visit WDW in this summer.
Some info. about TDL
-- "It's Magical...Tokyo Disneyland 10th anniversary" is now held.
-- Micky's Toontown will open next year in TDL.
-- Yesterday, Nippon Oriental-land Co,. (owner of TDL) announced that
"Tokyo Disney Sea" and new transportation system from TDL and TDS
to Maihama area (Hilton, Sheraton,e.t.c.) would be constructed in
next 7 years close to TDL (see 215.*).
And My brother and cousin are working in TDL !
