| 186.1 | Need more info | WAV13::AROIAN |  | Wed Apr 25 1990 14:26 | 20 |
| | I've done some checking about availability. My options to stay are:

    o  Carribean Beach Resort
    o  Fort Wilderness
    o 2 Bedroom Village @ Disney Village Resort

    I've decided that 2 rooms would be best.

    My husband is really not that keen on staying at Fort Wilderness - the
    thought of "camping out" doesn't appeal to him (even though we'd be
    renting a trailer). We're not "campers". But, might be swayed, if
    I was given a hard sell by some of you Disney-holics!!!

    I can't find much about the Disney Village Resort. Is it off the
    beaten track???

    Thanks for tips!!!

| | The Carribean Resort has both beaches and pools one for each
"island". We walked around it last year and it is very nice there.
I think you would definitely need two rooms there.

|  |     RE: Campers

    Fort Wilderness is NOT campers. They are small versions of mobile homes
    that are great to have for a family. They have a SEPARATE bedroom with
    a double bed, bunk beds and a vanity. A quenn size murphy bed in the
    living room. A REAL bathroom.central heat and air, and a full kitchen
    with stove,refrig,dishwasher and microwave. We have stayed several
    times with 4 adults and 2 children without any problem.

| | The "trailers" in Fort Wilderness also have daily maid service,
    telephones, and color TV. About the only difference between the
    trailers and a hotel suite is the non-availability of room service.

| 186.5 | FW v CBR | WOTVAX::BATTY | The Seaweed is Always Greener... | Thu Apr 26 1990 09:04 | 25 |
| | I'd also go for FW over CBR, especially with young children. You
    are at least in the same area, even if you use the murphy, and let
    the kids have the bedroom, rather than being split over two rooms
    which are not necessarily adjacent. The facilities in the trailer,
    fridge, cooker, kettle etc are also very convenient for dealing
    with the whims of small children, even if you don't plan to cook
    exotic meals.

    Having stayed in FW, and visited friends at the CBR, I also prefer
    the atmosphere of FW. It seemed more private and quiet round the
    loops, with plenty of open space.

    Don't forget also the singarounds with Chip'n'Dale and the Disney
    movies, free every evening at the Trading Post - The Petting Farm
    - canoe trips - swimming holes - The Pioneer Hall, with
    Hoop-De-Doo and Chip'n'Dale's Breakfast Jamboree - play areas etc
    etc. (How much of a hard sell do you want?)

    If it's purely the question of a "Camper" versus "Hotel Room",
    don't have any worries on that score. The trailer was as well (if
    not better) equipped than the apartments we rented at Sonesta
    Villas and Quality Suites.

| | More feedback, please on the CBR and the Disney Village "villas".
    See opening note.

    My husband is still not keen on Fort Wilderness!!!

    Thanks.

| 186.7 | Have a good time | KAOA11::LAVIGNE |  | Wed May 02 1990 13:30 | 12 |
| | If it were me (which I am hoping it will be in about 10 months)
    I would choose the Disney Village. My wife and I stayed at the
    CBR last August and it was great, but I think 3 adults and 2 children
    is too much for any Hotel room especially the CBR's room. Other
    than the size of the room I don't think you will be disapointed
    in any of the resorts features and facilities. Don't force the
    hubby to camp if he doesn't want to It could ruin the rest of the
    Holiday.

    Regards,
    JP

| 186.8 | Second the vote for villa | LABRYS::GIBSON |  | Wed May 02 1990 14:45 | 17 |
| | Given the three choices you have, I would also choose the villa.
    I think CBR is just too cramped, and not being a camper myself,
    I would have a hard time convincing myself to stay at Fort
    Wilderness. Besides, isn't there going to be another adult
    with you (I forget, but think I remember something about it from the
    original note)? In the villa you won't have to contend with bunk
    beds for an older person (or yourself, if you let the older person
    have the regular bed). I had a villa reserved for November, but
    we decided to go in May instead. Everyone I know who has stayed
    in the villas loved them -- like home with maid service.

    We had reserved a villa for November, but decided to go to WDW
    in May instead, and don't need the space. We'll be at the Contemporary.

    Just my 2 cents

| | When we went down in January, we stayed at the CBR. Loved it, however,
    there were just two adults and 2 children. I would't want anymore
    than that in a room. They only have double beds. No queens/kings.
