| We're going July 4th, and have made reservations at the Disneyland
Hotel. The price is $130/night.
I have the Magic Kingdom Club Membership Guide, and they have a
long list of hotels in the Anaheim area. They offer 2, 3, 4, and
5 night packages. There are hotels right near Disneyland as well
as hotels 5 miles away.
If you can't get your hands on the MKC guide, let me know and I'll
type in the names of the hotels listed.

coupon included. e-mail me, gayle wright @sdo and i'll inter/o snail

30th), but i still have reservations sked that i haven't cancelled
for the night of the 26th & 27th if you can't get in because they're
booked and you can use the dates. 'nuff said.

Thanks for the info! We've decided to stay with my brother-in-law
(he lives in Laguna Nigel) and drive up for each day.

102.7 | Candy Cane Inn | MOUTNS::J_PARSONS | George Stark: Not A Very Nice Guy | Tue Jun 23 1992 19:23 | 6 |
| re .6
I'd recommend the Candy Cane Inn if you're looking for a relatively inexpensive
place. $54/night, 2 queen size beds per room, nicely landscaped grounds. Walking
distance to the park (though they do have some sort of shuttle). AAA gives it a
3 diamond rating, and they do have a AAA discount.

102.8 | Haven't stayed over in Anaheim since I moved out of my folks | SWAM1::STERN_TO | Tom Stern -- Have TK, Will Travel | Tue Jun 23 1992 19:32 | 5 |
| I've never stayed at it, but there is a Residence Inn near the park,
and we know how popular they are in Florida.

102.9 | Castle Inn | XNOGOV::KAREN | when you wish upon a star... | Wed Jun 24 1992 07:40 | 8 |
| We stayed at the Castle Inn, which is more or less across the road from
Disneyland on Harbor Boulevard. They do run a shuttle but it's only
about a ten minute walk there anyway. It was a nice hotel. I can get
you their 'phone number if you like.
Hope this helps,
Karen

102.10 | MKC good in Anaheim? | CSC32::B_GRUBBS | | Wed Nov 17 1993 19:42 | 10 |

haven't gotten a new MKC card in awhile so forgive my ignorance.
does the Disneyland Inn in Anaheim have an MKC rate? We are planning
a trip to LA next May and want to spend a couple of days at Disneyland
and stay at the hotel on the Monorail.
thanks,

102.11 | DL Hotel Stuff | WREATH::SCOPA | | Thu Nov 18 1993 09:48 | 16 |
| Bert,
It's the Disneyland Hotel and yes you can get special MKC rates there.
The DL Hotel sits on 60 acres and contains a playground marina, tennis
courts, several pools, shops, entertainment, and even has a beach.
Goofy's Kitchen offers you character breakfasts and character dinners.
The outdoor amphitheater has a show called "Fantasy Waters" which mixes
water, colors, and music....similar to what you can see at Sea World.
Prices are comparable to Poly rates at WDW. May is considered "Value
Season" so you'll get even better rates.

102.12 | | LEDDEV::CULLISON | | Thu Nov 18 1993 10:38 | 19 |
| the MKC price guide includes 2,3,4 + day packages for all the
hotels including the Disneyland Hotel which is the one on
the Monorail. With the Hotel only you get a length of stay
passport allowing unlimited admissions to Disneyland while
you are there. Of course out of all the Hotels/MOtels
the Disneyland Hotel is more expensive than any of the others.
I remember being at Decus about 8 years ago, I walked pass
some of the small older strip motels right next to Disney.
A lot of these places looked to be very well kept up, of
course very simple with maybe a small pool, prices were sometimes
$20 a night, I know it was a while ago but the rooms for disney
in the big fancy hotels were $100+ a night. It was amazing
how cheap some of these small older places were.

102.13 | my thoughts | MSE1::ILUVNH::BADGER | One Happy camper ;-) | Thu Nov 18 1993 12:37 | 22 |
| I agree with Harold.
DL hotel is overpriced and same age as most motels in area.
right next door and a shorter walk to the monorail is the Emerald hotel
[may be called something else now] very clean,affordable. you can also
take monrail and do anything else that you'd do if Mickey were sleeping
with you with his hand in your pocket ;-)
Great place to take the kids to eat is the godfather's pizza next door.
at the 4 cornors right after exit from Emerald, is Coco's. good food,
cheap, family atmosphere.
get your digital discount at emerald.
very close by is a HJ's, Day's Inn.
I won't even mention Marriot and Hilton. ^$s.
the monorail is more interest imo, than WDW, you can ride it even if
you stay outside.

If you like speggii [sp] and guns, there's a place nearby with both.

102.14 | thanks | CSC32::B_GRUBBS | | Thu Nov 18 1993 13:52 | 11 |
| thanks for the info.....if the monorail is that easily accessed I'll
check the other hotels for better rates, as compared to the MKC rate
at DLH.
BTW, I also grabbed the Disneyland FAQ from the internet news group and
it has some other hotels rated for price, comfort, etc that are in
the same area.
The character buffets sound interesting......

with a nice pool for a 4 year old.
