68.0. "Mickey Mouse Club" by CALL::SWEENEY (Who is my control?) Fri Mar 31 1989 14:18

    I thought the Mickey Mouse Club deserved its own note.

    One more note on the original child actors who played the
    "Mouseketeers". Their contracts did not include any rerun, residual,
    or derivative rights. So all of the stuff today relating to the
    original performers and performances involves no compensation to them.

    I believe that subscribers to the Disney Channel have been told that
    there is an active Mickey Mouse Club. But how would I know -- my
    neighborhood isn't wired yet.

    Can someone post the words to the "Mickey Mouse March", also known
    as the Mickey Mouse Club Song.

    The new Mickey Mouse Club show starts on the Disney Channel 24-Apr-89,
    and I've been trying to teach the song to my boys. The only problem is
    I don't remember all the words. (Well, another problem is I don't sing
    very well, but they don't know that.)

    I seem to remember there was one part that was sung at the beginning
    of the show, and another at the end.
68.6Please don't post lyrics hereEXIT26::STRATTONI (heart) my wifeSun Mar 19 1989 12:036
        Without trying to put a damper on things, I'd be willing
        to bet that those lyrics are copyrighted by the Walt Disney
        Corporation and, therefore, should not be posted here.

    I don't believe that's a big problem here. They were "spoken" and
    sang on national TV, and anyone could write them down, to say,
    learn for their own gratification, teach to young-un's, etc.

    AS long as their not written and sold for profit !

    Just my thought on the subject.

    I think I used to know those words many, many, moons ago. When my
    folks bought their 1st TV, that program was all I used to live and
    breathe for each evening. I was around 5 years old or so. But, I
    lot of memory loss as taken place since then. ??

    I believe that subscribers to the Disney Channel have been told that
    there is an active Mickey Mouse Club.

    The new Mickey Mouse Club premiers Monday 24-Apr-89 on the Disney
    Channel, at 5:30 Eastern/Pacific time. It will be a daily half-hour
    show. The March/April Disney Channel Magazine has a several page
    article about it, and the new cast.
68.9What's the Rap?INDMKT::GOLDBERGLen Goldberg...WDW-112Thu Jul 27 1989 17:449
    OK, we've got the old march down. It is used for the opening of the
    NEW Mickey Mouse Club, albeit at a tempo I don't recognize, and as the
    beginning of the closing theme. But after the "Y? Because we like you,
    M-O-U-S-E" they break into the "Mickey Mouse Rap".

    Has anyone got down the words to the Rap?

    (Some how the whole thing just isn't the same |-(. But then again I
    suppose I'm just a bit outside the target audience age.)

68.2Resid-jewels? We don't get no stinkin residuals!DELREY::STERN_TOHave TK; Will TravelWed Oct 03 1990 16:5314
>>> Their contracts did not include any rerun, residual,

    	Even if their contracts had included residuals, they would have
    expired a long time ago. When residuals were first being discussed,
    the representative from the Screen Actors Guild negotiated a 10-replay
    maximum for residuals (a sliding scale for each replay, but after the
    first 10, no more money to the performers), which he then convinced the
    members was the best he could get. Immediately after this went
    through, he resigned because he was forming his own production company.

    That man was Ronald Reagan.

68.11MM Club in Production This SummerVISUAL::SCOPAI'd rather be in OrlandoMon Apr 27 1992 15:288
    Word from the latest Disney Channel magazine is that The New Mickey
    Mouse Club WILL NOT be in hiatus this Summer but will be in production
    from May until October.

    So if you're lucky enough to be going to Orlando this Summer stop in at
    MGM and see what television is all about.

68.12Any new reports on MMC ?STOWOA::AGULEWed Feb 17 1993 13:2010
    Any updates on what months the MMC does it's taping. We are planning
    a trip next year, and my daughter loves the show and said she wants to
    go to the show when we're there.

    If any one has either taken any of their kids or gone on their own,
    any feedback on the experience? I think my daughter is a little too young
    (she'll be 6) for participating.

    Thanks

    They used to be on hiatus in the Summer but that's history as they tape
    thru the Summer.

    Keep in mind that if you decide on attending any tapings plan on
    devoting a few hours of your time that day.

68.14They filmed in August for OctoberSALEM::BLANCHARD_MLife in the Slow Lane......Wed Feb 17 1993 14:339
     I was able to get tickets for my two oldest daughters when we went
    down last August 1-25th. I remember I had to call the casting producer
    to get the reservations for the show. They had very strict rules
    concerning being on though (ages 12-17 only, no camera's, no autographs,
    have to be able to sit for 2+ hours without a break), the girls loved
    it anyway. They got to see Tevin Cambell perform live for the 200th
    show.

    I believe the same rules hold for any Nickelodeon shows you attend
    at Univeral. Just as MGM, Universal tapes shows two month in advance.
