Let me tell you a little bit what we are trying to do...
We plan (my husband and I) on leaving Brazil on the 12th or 13th
of october (dependind on flight hours) heading to Paris...
It will leave us in Paris at most on the 14th, and we will stay
there for a coule of days...
Well, that leaves us ready to Greece/Egypt after the 18th.
Now, we've got some greek cruise options but they are around $700
per person/4 day cruise. Well, we have friends that have got packages
in Madrid by this price, including the cruise, airline tickets and
hotel in Athens for 3 days... Now, what we don't know is how are
the prices for packages in Paris, and if it worth to book it from
here or wait until we get there...
If we can book it by the time we get to Athens we have nothing to
worry about, because if we don't find anything that worth in Paris
we will not loose anything...
The question is, is it easy to book a cruise with so little time
in advance??? How much would cost it there???
Thanks a lot!!!
Claudia
It will be great to have some more options, so thanks a lot for all

I do not know about this situation but in US and probably similar
elsewhere there are two things that affect late bookings.
1) If you can get to ship yourself then many times there are last
minute cancellations and you can cruise for a very low price.
It is a crap shoot and no guarantees.
2) Trying to get a last minute cruise leaving from a port that
you need to fly to can be done but you usually have to get
airfare on your own. In many cases the late and typically
more expensive last minute air may erase any savings from
last minute cruise deal.
In US the most common case of people who get great deals on last
minute cruises are ones who live near Miami, or another port
for Cruise ships. THey call up and get a cruise a day before
and just drive down and cruise for a fraction of cost. These
people are typically retired and can make last minute plans.
Bottom line is if you wait to book cruise till after going over
then assume that you may not be able to cruise at all and have
an alternative plan for vacation. Don't let a full ship ruin
your plans.
