| Gene,
If you have a chance while your in St. Thomas, take the ferry to
St. John and then take the island tour around St. John. It's
fabulous, something you don't want to miss.
If your just in St. Thomas for the day, try to get to one of the
local beaches, Sapphire Beach is beautiful, this is where I
stayed. Also make sure you take in shopping, they have
excellent bargains in St. Thomas.
Enjoy your vacation. I'll be anxious to here what the weather is
like cruising at this time of year.

-< Cruising along on Zenith >-
We are leaving Colorado Springs on Friday the 27th to Ft Lauderdale,
then on Saturday we will cruise to; San Juan, St. Thomas, St. Martin,
Nassau, and back to Ft. Lauderdale. This is our first cruise, first
REAL vacation. We combined it with our 10th anniversary sort of (Sept.),
this was the most convenient time for us to go, and get someone to
watch the kids.
We chose the Celebrity's Zenith because a local radio station was
promoting the new ship with a special package. I don't know if we
really got a discounted price, around $2300 for both including air and
one night in Ft. Lauderdale hotel.
Really looking forward to a great time. I've read most of the notes
in this file and found out some execellent information. I'am going to
ask for ideas or 'don't miss' on the islands I mentioned above, and
also if anyone has been on the Zenith?
Thanks in advance for any input, and I will put in a reply when we
get back.
Bon Voyage,

| Well we made it back, what a wonderful vacation. The ship was
beautiful, very clean, and just overall classy. We chose an inside
cabin originally but were upgraded to an outside cabin which is the
way we will start next time. The cabin are about 10' x 18' best guess,
I thought a nice size to be comfortable, with a port hole that is about
2 ft. sq. which seemed a lot larger than most other ships I saw. The
food was excellent as was the service. The entertainment was pretty
good, I guess not quite as good as they have on the 2000 passenger
ships, but entertaining anyway. For as many people on the ship (1350)
I was surprised it didn't seem crowded at all. The only time we ran
into a lot of people was waiting for the restaurant to open for late
seating supper.
It was overcast and cool in Ft. Lauderdale when we left, Sun. at sea
on the way to San Juan was hot and sunny as was Monday. We arrived in
San Juan at 5pm Mon., this was probably the worst thing on the trip, I
really would liked to have gotten in to port earlier, by the time we
walked to town it was 5:30 almost dark and all the shops were closing.
Next time I will check the itinerary closer.
Arrived in St. Thomas at 7am Tue., we went on the submarine excursion
somewhat expensive, around $58 per person, but also very interesting.
They send a diver along the sub with food to bring the fish right next
to the windows. They take you on about a 45min.to hour long ride,
descending to about 100 feet down far enough for the color spectrum to
change. We also saw a stingray, star fish, turtles, you name it.
My wife didn't do so well on the sub, actually I think it was the boat
ride form the port to Buck Island that really got to her. After your
underwater tour they take you bact to the dock at the edge of town. We
walked around for awhile then went back to the ship, wife need to lay
down.
Didn't see .1's reply before we left, will try the St. John excursion
next time.
We left port around 5:30 arriving in St. Marrten around 7am Wed.
morning, we went snorkeling at Pinel Island my first time and it was
great, can't wait to do it again. Well somehow we missed our boat back
to the mainland, luckily there was another leaving shortly and we
caught a ride with them.
The ship leaves St. Marrten at 2:30 for Nassau, a day at sea on Thur.
arriving at 7am Fri. we rented scooters and did our own tour which
worked out fine, then did a little shopping. Ship leaves for Ft. Lauderdale
at 6:30.
All in all a great time and we will be doing it again.
