390.0. "NCL Windward" by ASDS::VERRIER () Thu Aug 20 1992 11:30

    I've poured through the notes on NCLs' ships, but have noticed that
    NCL Windward has not been mentioned.

    If I am not mistaken, isn't this one of their newer ships ?

    Has anyone cruised on this ship ? I'd like to hear your experience...

390.2anyone cruised on it yet?DELNI::GIUNTAFri Sep 10 1993 14:216
Anyone been on the Windward yet? We're scheduled to take a cruise on it
the week of October 24, and are really looking forward to it. We took
a cruise on NCL for our honeymoon 10 years ago, and thought it was about
time we had another vacation. Anyone been on it yet?

390.3similar to Dreamward ??LEDDEV::CULLISONFri Sep 10 1993 16:1114
    I do not really know but if the Windward is the newer ship then
    it should be similar to the Dreamward. I believe there are people
    who have been on the Dreamword so look into that. I am sure
    someone else knows the correct status, your agent should be
    able to tell you if it is a sister ship of the Dreamword which is
    new also.

    If it is similar then try note 421 and replies to it. 421.10, 421.9
    liked it. 444.9 compares it against RCCL Monarch. also note 452.
    444.6 mentions dreamward.

    			hope this provides some type of lead

The Windward is the sister ship to the Dreamward. Ask your travel
agent if they have the latest video. I just received mine and it
does an excellent job showing the features of the two ships. The
Windward is scheduled to do the Caribbean in the winter and Alaska
in the summer. Because the Windward has a ton of windows in the
public areas, she'll be great to view all the scenic sites in the
Caribbean and especially Alaska.
390.5ship's DJ is a former DECCIE!!DELNI::GIUNTATue Nov 09 1993 14:2913
We just got back from our cruise on the Windward, and found it nice but not
as good as what we expected. A couple of interesting things were that we
had the same cruise director as on our first cruise for our honeymoon 10
years ago on the Southward, and the ship's DJ is a former DECcie. I was
walking down the hall on the Friday of our cruise with my DCU package of
traveler's cheques in my hand when he walked by and noticed it. Asked me
if I worked at Digital, and we had a very nice conversation. It seems that
he got TFSO'd in January of 1992, and found himself a job as the ship's
DJ. He said it's different and he's proof there's life after Digital. His
name is Ed Walsh, so if any of you are planning on sailing on the Windward,
look for him and say hello.
