357.2 | Great Experience with the Crown Princess | ASDS::ELLIOTT | | Wed Apr 22 1992 16:11 | 18 |
| I just returned from a cruise on the Crown Princess with my husband.
We were on our honeymoon and first time cruisers. We would both highly
recommend the Crown Princess. The accommodations were great, the food
and entertainment were great and the service was great. I too would be
cautious about some of the shore excursions. The only shore excursion
that we would highly recommend (if you are going on the eastern
Caribbean cruise) is the snorkelling in St. John. Other than that,
stick to going on your own and save yourself a good amount of money.
The other word of caution is that we had an unusually rocky trip. Half
the crew and passengers were sick the first 2 days at sea. People that
never experienced sea sickness did on our trip. I would highly
recommend you getting a patch or a prescription from your doctor before
going on your cruise just in case.
Again, I would highly recommend this boat.

357.3 | Island Princess | DNEAST::MCLAUGHLIN_P | | Wed Aug 10 1994 13:21 | 10 |
| I would like information on the "Island Princess". It is one
of Princess' smallest ships (which we prefer). The only other
Princess Lines ship we have been on is the Crown Princess.
By size comparison, we have been on two of RCCL's smaller
ships, Song of Norway (637 ft) and Song of America (705 ft).
I know the Island Princess is smaller than SON. If you have
been on the I.P. or know anyone who has, could you share some
thoughts about the ship.

| Patty,
The Island Princess is about the size of RCCL's Sun Viking. We were
the IP from Anchorage to Vancouver in 92. We really enjoyed our 7 days aboard.
If so, Princess' cruise experience is a little different than RCCL.
The crew of the IP when we sailed were very friendly and helpful. We felt
that the dining staff was a little stiff.
Overall I would rate the Island Princess an 8 on a scale of 10.
Hope you enjoy your next cruise.

357.5 | holiday cruises | DNEAST::MCLAUGHLIN_P | | Fri Aug 12 1994 07:41 | 18 |
| Dan,
Thank you for your comments about the Island Princess. We also
have noticed a difference between dining on Princess Lines and
RCCL. We have a cruise booked over Christmas and New Year's on
RCCL's Song of Norway. We enjoyed the SON the first time we
cruised on her and I'm sure we will again. We received information
from Princess regarding a holiday cruise on the Island Princess and
we are considering it. It is 16 nights and the cruise we are booked
on is 13 nights. Our travel agent is sending us a brochere so we
can check it out. We've never been on a holiday cruise and we're
excited about spending Christmas and New Year's at sea.
Regards,
Patty
