    I understand a voter registration card is just as good as a birth
    certificate, true?  I remember using one once before when I went
    to Bermuda.  I have a problem getting my birth certificate and I
    am leaving next Saturday to cruise to Bermuda.

	I understand that the VOTER REGISTRATION CARD is as good as a passport or birth certificate. The cruises that we have been on have not required any type of ID when you get back to the USA. Of course, there is he first time. Ken Clifton WKO

	I am worrying about the hurricane that's brewing as this is my first trip, now all I need is problems with the entering the country. Wow! I was born in Georgia and had a birth certificate, but can't locate it and I'm leaving Saturday and afraid I wouldn't be able to get it in time. Anyway, I am so excited about the cruise I can hardly concentrate on work. Thanks Loraine 223-3606

	Our 13 year old daughter got in to the Bahamas with her library card. After all what kind of valid ID does a kid have any way? I think several government issued documents will work.

	Just a quick note to say that I had a very different experience a couple of years ago after a cruise to Alaska. When my mom and I got back to Seattle and got ready to head home to San Francisco, we had to go thru customs because the ship had sailed from Vancouver. In the material we had gotten from the cruise line, it was indicated that if you didn't have a passport, a US drivers license or birth certificate would be sufficient. At the last minute I packed my passport, but my mom only had her license. They detained her for over 30 minutes and read both of us the riot act about traveling out of the country without proper ID! It was curious to note that she and my dad had driven up to Vancouver several years before and had never been asked for ID at all when they crossed the border from Canada. Last year I took a cruise in the Eastern Caribbean and was never asked for any type of ID. Apparently it just depends on what customs agent you get that day and what mood they're in. To be on the safe side, I would definitely recommend taking a passport if you have one, otherwise your birth certificate. The agent in Seattle indicated that these are the only approved forms of ID they would use -- never mentioned a voter registration card. Pat
