294.0. "Monarch of the Seas" by NIMVAX::LEVY () Thu Jul 04 1991 17:44

    I'm booked on RCCL's Monarch of the Seas. Its their new one that taking
    its first cruise in November. We're taking the Christmas cruise. I've
    been on RCCL before (Sun Viking) and had a great time. (I took
    Princess's LA to Acapulco run and it was not nearly as much fun).

    Anyway, has anyone gotten any scoop on Monarch of the Seas or did
    anyone sail Soverign of the Seas, when it had its first cruises and
    have any opinions on how the crew adapted to the new ship etc?

    Thanks,

    Len

294.1Have a good timeMUTT::DANIELFri Jul 05 1991 19:458
    We were on the maiden voyage of the SOS and had a wonderful time. The
    crew didn't seem to notice the new surroundings, and took care of
    business as usual. We heard that there were some minor problems with a
    few cabins were either fixed quickly or the passengers were moved.

    Hope you have a wonderful trip,

294.4same itinerary as Song of NorwayVMSSPT::KILLORANTue Jul 09 1991 14:0916

    Monarch of the Seas took over RCCL Song of Norwary's itinerary. SON is
    going to be sailing the Mediterranean.

    It is a really good intinerary, make sure you take the later seating
    for dinner so that you can relax for a couple of hours before dinner.
    You will need it. We were on the SON this past April and after
    running around all day, we really looked forward to that time in
    the day when you come back to the ship and go up on deck, look back
    at the island as we sailed out to sea.

    Enjoy, make sure you enter a trip report.
