285.1 | sign and drink your way to the coffin | ODIXIE::RHARRIS | | Mon May 20 1991 17:23 | 19 |
| I am not on that cruise, BUT I can tell you about some good party
action. If you have an American Express card, when you get onboard, get
a sign and drink card. What they do is run a blank of your american
express card only, give you a paper "drink" card, and whenever you buy
drinks, they use the paper card. No money. The good thing is, they
give you a detailed receipt everytime you order a drink. That way, you
know exactly how much you spend on drinks. Sure beat whipping out the
wallet.
I personally charged up $700 for drinks for the week, but don't let
that scare you. Prices for drinks are actually pretty good. I was
buying bottles of asti spumante every night with dinner, some nights
two or three bottles. I would buy rounds of drinks for friends etc.
The way to go

285.2 | A good Idea!! | AUNTB::CLIFTON | Where_is_the_next_race!! | Mon May 20 1991 17:35 | 13 |

Can I go with you on your next cruise??
That is the best way, open a credit account once your on board and you
don't have to worry about carrying around money...excepted in port.
We always carry around $500 or so dollars in travelers checks just in
case.
Have a good time!!!

| I agree with (.1) about getting the Sail & Sign card. This also saves
you some money. How often do you buy a drink for $2.25 and leave $3.00
for it? That,s a 33% tip! The Sail & Sign program automatically adds on
15% tip so you don't have to worry about cash and the generous tipping.
Otherwise, traveler's checks or cash - whichever you prefer.

285.4 | Could be "Ecstacy" for us! | GEMVAX::MARTINEZ | Cape Anner | Tue Jul 02 1991 15:16 | 19 |
| My husband-to-be and I are considering a cruise for our honeymoon, and
have heard good things about the Ecstacy, and the Carnival line itself.
I have a few questions for those of you that know more about it:
- Which port does it leave from? Saturday or Sunday?
- Which routes does it offer?
- Ballpark rates for a 7-dayer?
- Phone number for more information?
I was surprised at how many cruises leave on Saturdays, when most
weddings take place. Doesn't that eliminate most newlyweds since they
would prefer leaving on a Sunday? Just an observation...
Thanks for the help.

285.5 | ... of what I know | EBBV03::ZANINI | | Mon Jul 08 1991 13:13 | 18 |
| Mary,
I will be going on the Ecstasy next March, and this what I know about
it so far:
It does leave on Sunday - from Miami
It has two routes. One week it is in the Eastern Caribean, second week
it is Western Caribean. You may chose 1 or 2 weeks.
Ballpark figures are - for a Category 6, outside cabin, wk of March
29 to April 5, it was $1489pp and 52.50 port fee.
Your best bet is to talk to a travel agent, or at least pick up a book
at one to figure what cruise would be the best for you. The new
Carnival books are out.

I have just returned from the Eastern Carribean Ecstasy cruise.
There will be a hoard of honeymoon couples on board when you sail.
the choices for sunday departures are limited (RCCL Song of America)
and the Ecstasy are the largest ships leaving on Sunday.

| Janet,
Tried to get through to you via VAXMAIL this morning, but it looks like
there are problems with the network... I have a few questions for you
about the Ecstacy.
Thanks,
Mary
