230.0. "Queen of Bermuda?" by HOTAIR::SIMON (Hugs Welcome Anytime!) Wed Sep 12 1990 11:54

Has anyone travelled on the Queen of Bermuda? This is a Bermuda Star
Line ship. I am looking at a brochure for their cruise to Mexico and
the Western Carribean. The travel agent raved about this ship saying
she had been on it recently. I'm looking for some reviews.

    Thanks

My family and I cruised on the Queen of Bermuda last summer to Bermuda
along with friends of ours and their son. We had a great time! The
ship was very nice and the cabins are very large. Another girl in the
office here took the Queen of Bemuda last December from New Orleans
to the Western Caribbean and loved it! If you would like more details
or to chat about the ship just give me a call at DTN 336-4759.

I've been on the Bermuda Star a couple of times (mainly because the
deals were very good). I've haven't been on the Queen of Bermuda (my
parents have though); they say it is the sister ship to the Bermuda
    Star.

If this is your first cruising experience, I would suggest an RCCL ship
instead. While the Queen of Bermuda would be nice and perhaps less
expensive, you would really get your money's worth on an RCCL or NCL
ship in my opinion, FWIW. The entertainment, food, etc. are much
    better quality.

This is not my first cruise. I have been on Princess a couple of
times. The price on Queen of Bermuda is okay. I am also looking at
Regency Lines which has a great price. The itineraries are similar
with Regency going to and from Jamaica (Montego Bay), stopping at
Ocho Rios, Grand Cayman and the Panama Canal (can't remember other
stops) and the Queen of Bermuda going from New Orleans to the same
places but not into the Panama Canal. Just comparison shopping.
