195.0. "Seaward Tours and Snorkeling" by MPGS::KWOODWARD () Mon Mar 05 1990 16:41

Hi. I've done a search of this notes file to find out about the tours
on NCL's Seaward. I'm looking the Mystique and Tulum tours. They look
great, but I can't get very much feedback about them. I was hoping
    that someone has been recently.

Also... about the snorkeling. I'd like to try it, but I'm a beginner.
I was wondering about their dive in program.

    Anyone have any comments?

NCL pioneered the DIVE IN program. Its a great thing to do and very
safe. Don't know your ports of call so I can't recommend which to go
    on. Have fun.

We sailed last year on the NORWAY with the Friends of the cruise
notes Conferance (HI JOE !!). The instruction is give in the pool
long before you have to worry about the ocean. My wife hated to
even get her head underwater in the bathtube let alone snorkeling.
After the intial "shock" of being underwater she was fine. She
    LOVED it.

As for your outings Can give you a few general pointers:

1: Trips purchased oboard are a little more expensive then if you
did them on your own. However you have MUCH less to worry about.
MY wife and I did the whole island of Bermuda for $25 at our
own pace with a cabie who pointed out _EVERTHING_. The cruise
had three packages that where totaling some $45 each. This
was just driving around the island. You could do even better
if you used the bus and just took it as it came.

2: If you plan to use the tours offered by the cruise line, know
what you want before you get on board and make the reservations
a EARLY. WE missed out on a few things we wanted to see because
by the time we when to the lecture, they were sold out or limited
        space.

    	Good luck
