| 132.1 | I vote for the Norway | DARTS::MOSCHILLI |  | Thu Jun 22 1989 12:58 | 17 |
| | See Note 36.* for information on the NORWAY.

    I would definitely make sure you request a room with a double bed.
    A few people had their beds pushed together in our group and said
    it was uncomfortable.

    Ages - on the Norway you will find people from Age 1 to 99.

    Actvities and entertainment were the BEST!

    I haven't sailed any of the other ships you mentioned, but I know
    you won't be disappointed with the Norway. Read through note 36
    to get more information.

| 132.2 | Carnival "CELEBRATION" | HPSTEK::MNORMAND |  | Thu Jun 22 1989 13:09 | 9 |
| | Carnival Celebration is one of there newer ship and they all have
     Whirlpool,Fitness and Steam Rooms on them, and you will find a younger
     crowd of people on all the Carnival Ships also less informal. All the
     times that I've been on that line I was never disappointed all around
     for the money you can't go wrong, as a madder fact my wife and I plus
     two couple and there children will be going, Feb school vacation on
     the Festivale out of San Juan. What ever Cruise line you choose,
     you will a great time and a lot of fun.

| 132.3 | an opinion | ATSE::FLAHERTY | Evolving, not revolving | Fri Jun 23 1989 10:18 | 10 |
| | For a honeymoon cruise, go with the Sovereign. I've been on most of
    the lines and I think the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line is the best
    overall. The service and food on Sitmar was disappointing and
    Carnival is really skimping all around now. To be guaranteed of
    everything going well and being treated royally, your best bet
    is the Sovereign. My sister went on the Fairmajesty a couple
    of months ago and felt it wasn't up to par with RCCL.

| 132.4 | No DBLS on Cunard Countess... | SHALOT::CREAMER | Hi, y'all! | Fri Jun 23 1989 10:44 | 7 |
|  |
    The beds on the Cunard Countess can NOT be made into a double bed.
    As far as I know/remember they don't have cabins with double beds
    except maybe the suites.

| 132.5 | Shop around. | CNTROL::MORIN | Don Morin --- Hudson, Mass. | Sat Jun 24 1989 08:17 | 14 |
| | I've only been on RCCL and NCL, but I have to vote for RCCL hands
    down. Shop around, you might be able to find a 15% or 18% discount
    on a RCCL cruise the week you mention. Unless you are set on going
    to the eastern Caribbean, don't rule out the Song of America. My
    wife and I took our honeymoon on that ship. We liked the western
    Caribbean better than the eastern, (mainly because we didn't care
    for San Juan.) A friend of mine recently sailed the Song of Norway.
    That's the next cruise my wife and I wish to take.

       Try calling every travel agent in the phone book and ask if they
    have any discounts for the week in question on any ship. You may
    be able to find a great deal. (My wife and I recently got 20% off
    our Seaward cruise from a local agent, and we got 18% off our Song
    of America cruise the previous year.) Good luck.

| | I will also be going on my honeymoon either the week of 11/5 or
    11/11 as I am getting married on 11/4. Could you tell me a little
    more about this 25% discount. We are also trying to get a bargain
    for a decent cruise.

    Thanks.

|  |     re. -7

    	Actually the 25% discount started as a buy one-get second one
    1/2 price coupon ad I found in last issue's modern bride. You call
    them up (Norweigan cruise lines) and they send you a coupon for
    their most of their cruises. When I booked the cruise with the
    travel agent she called me up and told me that the same cruise was
    going for a 25% discount each (same $$$$). Also, I recall that
    Crimson travel has a book of all their cruise discounts and for
    the 5th there were several cruises.
    	Try calling Norweigan Cruises number for the coupons. I dont
    have the number handy right now, but could post it. Also, book
    real soon. There were only 3 cabins left in the catagory we took,
    and the catogory below was all booked up. (note that these were
    the cheaper catagories)

| 132.11 | CAN'T WAIT | WFOV12::HAMELIN |  | Thu Aug 10 1989 14:35 | 9 |
| | Well I made final plans to go to Mexico for a 5 night cruise on
    Chandris Cruise Lines. We leave on Sunday November 5, out of Miami
    and return Friday.

    Can't wait, we are booked on the promenade deck right near the casino
    but far enough down the hall not to hear the jingleing of the money
    too much.

| 132.12 | Had a great time! | YODA::LACORTI |  | Wed Nov 22 1989 09:11 | 21 |
| | Just want to let everyone know that we had a great time on the Norway.
    I only gained two pounds, but that took a lot of work (aerobics every
    morning it was offered and riding the bike). The food and service was
    great, and we meet a lot of nice couples in our age group. next time
    we go on a cruise though I think we will take an outside cabin. I had a
    hard time getting up when the only light is the one you turn on.
    	The one major disappointment was the tour on St Martin offered by
    the cruiseline. It took us for one of our stops at the ugliest beach
    on the island. AFter showing us the beautiful places, it could of
    stopped at one of them. So we cancelled our St Thomas tour and met a
    friendly cab driver who took us around and to the beach for $3.50 a
    piece.
    	The Norway is a real big and pretty ship. From what I heard it can
    barely port in Miami (10 inch clearance). The scary part was having
    a casino aboard to quickly lose our money. Also having on-board credit
    made it very easy to run up a big bar tab without realizing it (we were
    real good about it, but we met others who were not).
    	I think next time I will try Sovereign of the Seas for a change and
    comparison.
