106.0. "NO TICKETS NO CRUISE? HELP" by LM::BELON () Wed Mar 29 1989 11:04

    I am set sail for a cruise next week (on Sunday the 9th) but we are
    leaving early for 3 days in LA then leaving on the cruise out of LA on
    Sunday to MEXICO.

    My question is, my girlfriend who is dealing with her favorite
    travel agent (I have much to say about him) said that Carnival Cruise
    Lines is having problems with sending tickets and itinerary because of
    Eastern. I guess that Carnival books alot of Eastern filghts and is
    having problems sending out tickets etc. in fact we are taking
    I believe United Airlines, does this indeed sound right about Eastern?
    What if we do not receive our tickets etc by next Thursday? (We
    are leaving on Friday) should the travel agent keep calling?

    Thanks in advance

106.1DELAY IN RECEIVING CRUISE TICKETSFSHQA1::JLORREYWed Mar 29 1989 12:1713
    You will get your tickets on time. I ran into the same problem
    last week. I am leaving Friday (3/31) for San Juan taking a few
    extra days before the FESTIVALE sails on Sunday. I was very concerned
    last week as we did not yet have our tickets, and they could not
    even tell us our flight information. The travel agent indicated
    that this was because of the Eastern strike, and that instead of
    having tickets available 3-4 weeks prior to the cruise, they were
    receiving them 7-10 days prior. They assured me there was nothing
    to be concerned about because we had been confirmed by CARNIVAL,
    but I was still nervous until I had the tickets in hand. It wouldn't
    hurt to keep calling your travel agent to check status though.
    I would think you would get your tickets by the end of the week.

106.2Yes, Travel Agents Earn Their MoneyDELNI::LEVYWed Mar 29 1989 13:106
    Yes, I've heard that as well. One of our friends is going on Carnival
    at an earlier date than yours and they had to rebook the flights
    and yes, the travel agent handled all that and earned their money.
