97.0. "Mexico, Si, Princess Lines, No!" by DELNI::LEVY () Wed Mar 01 1989 20:17

I just recently (last week) came back from the Mexican Riviera cruise
on the Pacific Princess. What a disappointment!

The scenery was fine, the Sierra Madres tour was even better.

The Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, Ixtapa, Acapulco was fine too.

The Pacific Princess was a real disappointment.

Since being merged with Sitmar, I hear that the crew has a real
job security problem. It really showed on this cruise. I had taken
RCCL's Sun Viking last year to Cozumel and Grand Cayman and it was
outstanding. This Princess cruise was so bad that we wrote to the
cuise line and so did our travel agent.

I'll let you know if they respond to my issues.

Sorry to hear that the ship was not so hot.

What were the particulars you found disappointing?

    Thanks
    Joe

    Joe,

    The particular's were:

    1. The waiter was arrogant and didn't really care if we liked the
    food or not.

    2. The ship was getting rusty

    3. The bands played music pre-WWII.

    4. The food was fair. (I only put on 0.5 lbs, that says something!)

    5. It was my wife's birthday and when I asked for a cake, they brought
out this thing which was more like an bath towel and maybe didn't
    taste as good.

    6. The ship's staff tried really hard to get into it but the cruise
    director was narcoleptic.

    How's that for starters?
