I WILL BE TRAVELING THROUGH THE PANAMA CANAL FOR THE SECOND TIME
IN THREE YEARS.
THE FIRST TRIP THROUGH WAS ON THE ROYAL VIKING SEA AND THIS TRIP
WILL BE ON THE ROYAL PRINCESS.
THE SHIP WILL LEAVE SAN JUAN ON FEB 10, 1989 ARRIVING IN ACAPULCO
MEXICO ON FEB 21, 1989 WITH AN OVER NIGHT ABOARD DISEMBAKING ON
FEB 22,1989.
MY QUESTION IS ABOUT THE ROYAL PRINCESS, HAS ANYONE SAILED ON HER
AND WHAT DID THEY THINK ABOUT THE SHIP AND SERVICES.

Princess Cruise lines are excellent (see my note #2.3). I have
sailed on the Pacific and Island Princesses. I have not sailed
on the Royal Princess but I did get a tour of her when she was
in port. (I had lunch, too! It was excellent -- the same quality
food as the other ships.)
She is magnificent. My next cruise will be on the Royal Princess.
Feel free to send my mail if you have more specific questions about
Princess.

I've taken the Panama Canal cruise through the Panama Canal on the
Royal Princess in May of 1988. the ports were Cartagena, Aruba,
St. Thomas, Martinique and San Juan. You could well do without
CArtagena. The temp. was 106, with 90% humidity, the poverty was
depressing, and the peddlers were many. Other than that, it was
wonderful! The Royal Princess is a wonderful ship, great food,
very good entertainment, nice cabins (all outside), and good service.
The entertainment in the disco lounge is great if you like dancing
to modern music. The floor shows nightly are top notch. The jacuzzi
on deck is great on a warm evening, and the indoor one is great
for a cool evening. The lap pools are great for non-swimmers (like
me). There's plenty being offered to the passengers, i.e. fashion
shows, bingo daily, dance lessons, etc. etc.
Enjoy! The Panama Canal is a wonder!

Almost forgot.....the closed-circuit television in each stateroom
is too good to be true! Gives tour information, events, movies,
etc. etc.
Also shows you approaching each port.

My wife and I are leaving on the Royal Princess on Mar 25th, ports
of San Juan, St Thomas, St Maarten, Martinique, Curacao and Acupulco.
This will be our first cruise, and hopefully a good one.

Well, we survived coming back from the cruise. It was really
fantastic, wonderful ship, excellent food, good weather and a helpful
and very efficient crew. All in all, a super time! I'd recommend
it to anyone.
