I am cruising on NCL's SEAWARD the 23rd of October. I booked my cruise thru an agency in Miami, after seeing an ad in Cruise Travel Magazine. I was told my party (3 couples) would be upgraded at least one category. When I received my tickets we were upgraded 7 categories. We went from category 13 (inside, lower level of ship) to category 6, promenade deck (large outside stateroom)! I was wondering if anyone else has had any experiences of being upgraded, or were we just lucky? Jayne

Yes several times. The most rewarding was on our 10th anniversary, 14 day Mexican Riviera cruise on Holland America's Noordam. We were upgraded from a inside/low deck/midship cabin to a minisuite overlooking the bow of the ship, complete with queen size bed and bathtub. If we had initially booked that cabin our cruise would of cost us an additional $2000. Whatta anniversary gift that was. Thanks again Holland America!

How do rooms happen to be upgraded?

I WAS TOLD THAT IF YOU BOOK EARLY YOU GET THAT ROOM UNTIL THEY SELL OUT. THEY WILL OVER SELL CATEGORYS THEN THE EARLY BOOKINGS CAN BE MOVED UP. IF YOU TELL YOUR AGENT YOU WANT TO BOOK A SPESFIC ROOM YOU CAN MAKE SURE THAT YOU WONT BE MOVED IF YOU WANT(LIKE YOU WANT TWO ROOMS TOGETHER) OR YOU CAN ASK FOR JUST A GARENTEE ROOM AND NOT KNOW UNTIL YOU GET THERE WHAT ROOM YOU ARE IN. UASLY JUST GETTING A GEURENTEE THIS IS HOW YOU GET MORE THAN YOU PAYED FOR. FRANK |
