I'm leaving Saturday on the Sovereign to Labadee (Haiti),
St. Thomas, and San Juan. Has anyone heard what impact
the hurricane had on these islands? Am I correct in thinking
Labadee may be the only one affected?
I'm curious as to what happened (is happening) to those ships
sailing this week to ports like Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and
Cozumel. Would the ships go to different ports or were the
cruises cancelled?
I guess this is the risk one takes when travelling during
hurrican season. That is why the prices are lower (we are
saving 23%).

I haven't heard anything specific on the effect the hurricane but if you read the fine print on your info from the cruise line they say that they can cancel or alter the ports of call if "conditions warrant". The ports you mention, including Labadee which is on the north coast of Haiti, should not have been effected by Gilbert, so I wouldn't worry. The people who would know this week are on the Song of America (RCCL) which stops in Cozumel, Grand Cayman, and Ocho Rios...... Don | |||||
