30.0. "Alaskan cruises??" by UPOVAX::BECKER () Tue Aug 30 1988 14:11

Has anyone ever cruised to Alaska???

My fiance want us to cruise there for our honeymoon rather than
do the usual island cruises. Im not against it - but am concerned
about whether this type of cruise would be less "fun" than the others
and maybe geared to a more relaxed type of crowd.

I also understand that the cruises to Alaska are much more expensive
than the others but that the scenery is fabulous!!

I went to Alaska with Princess Cruises. I loved it! I enjoyed
it a lot more than the Mexican Riviera. For one thing, there's
gorgeous scenery to look at all the time! You sail up through the
Inland passage which is rugged mountain terrain, with pine trees
and waterfalls all along the way. It's just beautiful. We even
saw a bear swimming across the channel and several bald eagles.

I didn't think this cruise was any less 'fun' than the Mexican Riviera.
If I had my choice, I would take an Alaskan cruise over a Mexican
cruise every time. The ship itself, what with the food, entertainment
and cruise directors, is the same on either cruise. It's what's
out there for you to see that's more interesting and, in my opinion,
    much more beautiful.

DIR/TITLE is a remarkably useful command. For example, DIR/TITLE=ALASKA.
