| | Hi! I'm going on the 'Jubilee' the first week of April and I was
wondering if anyone has been on this ship since the last note was
entered, and if so, could you tell me about it?? I'm a first-time
cruiser and though I've read all the notes on the 'Festivale', I'd
like some info on solely the 'Jubilee'! Our ports are Nassua, San
Juan and St. Thomas - any info on these would be appreciated as
    well, like do's and don't do's!

    Thanx in advance! Stephanie

| | Hi,

Guess this is a good a place as any to enter my 'trip report' on
the Jubilee. We went on the February 19th (school vacation) cruise
(myself, my son 15, my daughter 10, and a single girlfriend - her
    first cruise, my 10th).

The ship is the fourth largest in the world with about 1,800
passengers, about two years old. Very pretty ship, interior and
exterior. Good size cabins. Lovely public rooms. Super
entertainment. However, the cruise director was more of a
professional magician than cruise director and his staff were
more dancers than mc's. So activites weren't quite as well-organized
or as much 'fun' as on RCCL ships and even Sitmar. Especially
the 'masquerade party' which turned out to be only a parade.
Lot of participators were angry that they went to all that
trouble to just parade across the stage for 15 seconds (other
ships have all kinds of prizes, just a real fun event). I'm
thinking about writing a letter because the mc of the event
was actually rude to the participants.

The other drawback, for me, was the food. It was ok to good,
but couldn't compare with RCCL, Sitmar, or even Regency Cruise
Line. Now as a first time cruiser, you probably wouldn't notice
the difference, but if you've been spoiled by the best where
every meal is a delight then this was a bit disappointing.
Like a restaurant that was nice, but you wouldn't go back to
    again.

Don't mean for this note to sound negative, because we had
a fantastic time. My friend said it was the best vacation
she's ever had. I would place it about 5th in order of
    cruises I've been on.

Don't worry, you'll have a wonderful time and will enjoy
every minute. Be sure to try the Yellowbird tour in Nassau.

| | Ooops almost forgot. My daughter who is almost 11 was a little
disappointed in the children's program compared to others she's
been on. Mainly because the children's room was only open
certain hours for certain activities. Sitmar kept it's room
open till midnight even if no formal activities were going on
there. It gave the kids a place to go, a chance to get to
know each other. She had to participate in adult activites
when the room was closed (ie. bingo, aerobics, etc.)

As for my teenager. Hardly saw him except for lunch/dinner. Some
nights he'd get in later than I did ;') He had a terrific
time, met about 13 other teenagers and they did stuff as
    a group.
