The problem is that mail1?.digital.com aren't reachable and external mail that relayed through is queueing until our IP network gets fixed.

I have Altavista Mail set up to use "relay.dec.com" Mail Gateway. Is this still the correct gateway or should I change to another subject to the other routing problems being sorted out? I assume relay.dec.com points to mail*.digital.com, is that correct? Al

relay.dec.com is the correct external gateway realy address, and yes, it does point to the mailx.digital.com relays. I've seen no problems in the last week or 2. Make sure, however, that you're not unnecessarily relaying internal mail (*.dec.com) through those relays. That should be either be sent directly or, if applicable, relayed to mts.dec.com. -Tom |
