hello all,
I have gone through quite a few answers regarding this question.
but somehow i am not able to find a solution.
we are having a cluster of vax 4300's running vms 5.5-2
many a time (almost once a day ) the maxcimum number
of links (decnet links) in the routing node of the cluster
gets excceeded .I increased the max links to 50.
but it still exceeds.when it exceeds most of the links
are from US5RMC root,i guess the incoming mails from internet
the links seem to be stale and dont get cleared. we clean it by
mc ncp disconnect kn links with node us5rmc sometimes
It would be great if any permenent solution is there for this
problem.all help on this is welcome
some body please look into this
thanks in advance

Tell your users to stop forwarding their VAX mail to exchange. It's
innefficient and does not reduce the native VAX mail traffic.
Tell them to make more use of exchange and learn to address their mail
properly. Over the course of a few weeks, their mail usage on VAX mail
will decrease and their exchange mail usage will increase and you'll
have fewer problems.

hi tom,
Thanks ,but we have not rolled out exchange in our site .
we also have SMTP installed on our vax machines
but it crashes some times .so we have to use us3rmc
for internet mails to be on the safer side

Can you get yourselves up to the latest versions of OpenVMS and DEC
TCP/IP Services?
I'm at OpenVMS V6.2 and DEC TCP/IP Services V4.1 ECO 3 - things work
fine.

They also work fine on VAX/VMS 5.5-2 with UCX V3.3 ECO Level 9 . | |||||
