Hi I have a strange problem with a customer of mine using digital Unix V4.0A Pacerprint 2.6.9.0 and Apple laserwriter Pro 630 connected to the LAN on the Ethernet using APPLETALK protocol. When I try to submit consecutively (I mean more lpr -Plw630 document command one after the other, for example) jobs from Unix and/or from any client (MAC or PC), some of these jobs disappear and in the pacerprint log file (/usr/local/pacer/pacerprint/tmp/lpr_log) I find lines like this [date...] [lw630filter]: LaserWriter [LaserWriter Pro 630] Busy... one line for each job lost (i.e.: send 8 jobs and just 4 was printed!!) We are searching for this problem everywhere in the notes file, but with no result. Is there anyone who can help me to solve that? TIA Any help is appreciate Andrea Tuoro [Posted by WWW Notes gateway]

Just if this could be useful for some one other. I have found by myself after an accurate troubleshooting that the filter used in the printcap coming with the very last release of PACER PRINT, showing the problem indicated. Replacing this filter in the printcap file with an old release obtained from PACER PRINT (2.6.5.1) The problem is disappeared. Cheers Andrea T. [Posted by WWW Notes gateway] |
