Hello all, Customer has connected an HP LaserJet 4V printer on a JetDirect EX Plus3. The JetDirect connects with UTP on a hub and the printer through its parallel port on the first of the three ports of the JetDirect. They have configured the printer under Digital Unix V4.0 as remote printer with the following printcap entry: lp6|6:\ :lf=/usr/adm/lp6err:\ :lp=:\ :rm=start-hpadmin3:\ :rp=text:\ :sd=/usr/spool/lpd6:\ :sh: The problem is that the lpr command with multiple options doesn't work, e.g: lpr -#3 /etc/motd it prints only once. Has anyone seen this before and if yes is there any way to get more than one copy ? Thanking you in advance Best regards Thanos

The -# option won't work for remote queues. The lpd in HP's JetDirect interface doesn't know this option. Tho enable -# option you have to work with hpnpf printfilter. See http://www-rle.zuo.dec.com/~frasi/info/printing/hplj_jetdirect.txt for more details. Franois |
