911.0. "Remote printing from UNIX V3.2D1 to PC using XEROX BARR , spool loosing files" by MXOC00::RGONZALEZ () Mon Feb 17 1997 23:04
Hello , this is Roberto Gonzalez from Mexico City.
I have a prolem with the customer VW as follows :
We have a Alpha Server 8400 (MIGAPL), with digital UNIX v3.2d-1 who haves a
print queue called "ps1" wich printcap entry is as follows :
>ps1|ps1|ps1 (pncc001):\
> :lp=:\
> :sd=/usr/spool/lp/requests/ps1:\
> :lf=/usr/spool/lp/errores/ps1:\
> :rm=pncc001:\
> :rp=ps1:
where "pncc001" is a PC with a XEROX software called BARR and the local spool is also
called "ps1"
We sended three jobs of 80 Mbytes each from the Alpha Server with the command :
> lp -dlp -dps1 arch1 arch2 arch3
while the first job is printing, the other two remains on the spool on the
Alpha Server, and the current job in the spool of the PC, the printing time is about
12 minutes.
When the first job ends his execution, "suddendly" the others two jobs
"dissapeare" from the spool in the Alpha Server and nothing of these jobs was printed. Also there is no message error in either machines.
Anybody has any idea of what happen with this files?
Any suggestion will be apreciated.
Roberto
