178.2 | more info - here they are | NETRIX::"[email protected]" | Gernot Meyer | Wed Mar 26 1997 10:36 | 17 |
| Hey
I checked all that. changing the SCSI-cable and terminators. I did not
changed the server itself or the SCSI-adapters.
the machine is a DS5000/240 with Ult 4.4 on 3 rz29 disks in a pizzabox.
On SCSI-bus is the box and a tlz06 drive. On the other SCSI-bus only
a terastore-jokebox with 2 scsi worm-drives.
In urf there is no information except the standard startup info
after the system hang but info between these info.

178.3 | some thoughts | RHETT::LACORTI | | Wed Mar 26 1997 20:33 | 14 |
| Hmmm
this gets tricky since rz29's came out after ultrix 4.4 and 4.5
were qualified and are not in the spd. But ultrix does have the
scsi cam built in at that rev. what revision is the tlz06 at?
i.e the uerf out put from the last bootup?
So if you hit the halt button and then type
go 0x8003008, then try to boot, it cannot since the devices drop
off the bus....I wonder if we can move the tape drive to the second
scsi temporarily to see if that would help. Also what is the firmware
on the rz29's (not knowing if that would matter)
SAndy

| Your earlier note mentioned pizza box. Since the term has been
used for various boxes over the years, could you be more explicit?
There is a BA35x desktop shelf that uses the name, but the
RZ29B isn't supported in it. They tend to over heat. The
description you gave of the system also doesn't match the
configuration list posted in .4. Those seem to be RZ28s.
