512.0. "ISO IGRP, Int IS-IS" by GENIE::DURAND () Tue May 27 1997 11:18

Has anbody configered a network where CLNS and ISO IGRP is used! Since
our customer has an Int. IS-IS backbone we also want to do some kind of
redistribution between these two routing protocols (if this is possible/makes
sense).

512.1Why not I-ISIS on cisco's?STKHLM::WEBJORNGullik Webjrn Network AdvisoryTue May 27 1997 11:5413

    I think you might find a few problems since "quote"ISO?? IGRP"unquote"
    will not handle anything byt pure CLNS if this is a traditional
    mixed DEC / DECNET / OSI / PHASE IV environment.

    Why don't you run I-ISIS on the ciscos? ( I presume they are cisco's)
    It works and is not too complicated to get working including all
    multiprotocol stuff.

    Just my 2 c worth.

Oops, good to know that ISO IGRP works only for pure CLNS.

Yes the test environment runs already with Int. IS-IS. But the customer has
a lot of ol' AGS+ boxen around, where Int IS-IS doesn't run. And he doesn't like
to pay for the upgrade...
