504.0. "All explorer packet and source route bridging" by CSCMA::MASOUD () Fri Mar 21 1997 16:10
Hi,
The following network topology have 4 token rings connected by 6 Source
route bridges (copmlete Mesh topology). Token ring 2 and 4 are connected
via SRB 6 and token ring 1 and 3 are connected via SRB5. The question I
have is if station X on token ring 1 sends an ALL Route Broadcast (all
explorer) packet, how many copies of the explorer packets will arrive at
station Y on token ring 3.
Station (X)--(tokenring 1)---------|SRB 1|----------(tokenring 2)
|\ / |
| \ / |
| \ / |
|SRB 4| \ |SRB 6| |SRB 2|
| \ |SRB 5| |
| / \ |
| / / \ |
(tokenring 4)--------|SRB 3|----------(tokenring
3)--Station (Y)
Thank for your help,
