Steve,

I haven't played there myself, but I heard that the
North Conway Country Club is pretty nice. According
to a pamplet I have the greens fees are $28/35; par 71;
6,659/5,530 yards; grass practice range, allows walkers;
golf cart $22; semi-private; near Norcross Circle.

Their number is 603-356-9391.

As the previous reply stated, North Conway CC is right in the village.
It's the second(?) oldest course in NH. The course is fairly flat and
not too difficult. They usually keep it in pretty good shape. The only
problem is that it's tough to get a decent tee time on weekends.

Also in North Conway is a very nice 9-hole course on West Side Rd. I think
the course is called "Hale's Location". It's located at the White Mtn Hotel.
This course is definately more difficult than NCCC - very hilly, narrow,
and lots of sand.

Nearby, in Jackson, are Wentworth (18) and Eagle Mtn (9), but I wouldn't
bother with either one.

There's also the Mt Washington Hotel, about 30 miles away, which has an 18 hole
course (old Donald Ross design) and a 9 hole par 3. I've played the 18 and wasn't
impressed - far too slow, and believe it or not, we had to wait on a few
occasions for non-golfers to cross the fairways (!!) - hikers, bicyclists,
and people on horses - gimme a break...

South of there is Indian Mound in Ossipee, but I've never played it, so
I can't comment.
