Hey Pete, then you should use her last name and I am sure your wife
won't have any objections when she sees a check made to "Darling" for
one hour.

| Juniper's brochure includes a box that says "For lessons, schools, and
custom clubfitting call The Golf Center (598)393-7105", which I did,
and connected up to an answering machine that is Monique herself, so
she's still available!

2028.5 | Fit, fit, fit | NETRIX::"[email protected]" | Steve | Tue Aug 08 1995 12:22 | 22 |
| Pete,
Sorry to hear about your bug. Scientests have been working on a
cure for the "golf bug" for years, but most of their funding has been
transfered to stuff like Aids and cancer research. But, perhaps one day
there will be a break through!!!!
I don't know who makes the "Faultless" clubs but if you're looking for a
set of new ones, the three most important factors are: (1) fit, (2) fit,
and (3) fit. The clubs must have the proper length and lie or your wasting
your money (on the clubs and lessons). The flex on the shaft is
important but more complicated to determine than most people think.
There is NO relationship between staft flex and handicap!!! And the
relationship between swing speed and flex is not direct (it is the
rate of club head acceleration that is important). The correct grip
size is easy enough to determine, and should not be overlooked.
As far a Monique is concerned, tell your wife that a professional
"woman" could never charge that much money.

| Well, I did buy new clubs, but didn't put much money into 'em. They're
Dunlops that came 3-PW, 1-3-5 metal woods, all oversized, irons are
cavity-back and p-weighted, and they threw in a bag, all for $150.
I have been shooting 66 for 9 holes for about 10 weeks. The first week
with these clubs I shot 61 and last week 55. Lessons start Thursday so
I'm headed for the low 30's by end of August!

2028.7 | tipping? | MOVMON::DAVIS | | Wed Sep 06 1995 14:34 | 5 |
| Is tipping the teacher customary/expected after a lesson or series of
lessons?
Thanks,

| I think that tipping is customary. I know when I went to the
Stow Acres 2-day golf school last year, there was a little 6 or 8
page 'handbook' that they gave us, and there was a paragraph in
there about tipping. They said is wasn't mandatory (of course!)
but suggested $10 or $15 per day as a guideline. I'm pretty good
friends with my golf teacher and he says that most people tip him,
especially if students in the 2 or 4 day school.
I feel kind of weird slipping a friend $5 after a lesson so
we have a deal worked out where I tip him in Bruins tickets
at the end of the season, depending on how much my handicap
has improved!
