I will be visiting Wilmington, Delaware (not Mass !) in a couple of weeks; my wife works for DuPont, and hope to spend some time looking in golf shops etc. Anyone with any knowledge of the area ? Mike p.s. Yes, I plan to play the DuPont C.C. while I'm there.

Bob, Didn't get to Garrison but I did play Delcastle (nothing special but easy to get on), Ed "Porky" Oliver's (good greens and clubhouse - lots of youngsters play here), and the first half of the DuPont Nemours course. This was in immaculate condition, as the 'DuPont Course' appeared to be. You really need to be invited to get on the DuPont (despite what they say) and book well in advance. Prize for the least friendly reception anywhere that I have played so far goes to the pro-shop in DuPont, however, first prize probably tied between Cheri Alexander (who si the social club secretary and got me on the Nemours course) and Lionhead, just north of Misssissauga, Toronto. By the way, they claim that their "Legends" course is the second hardest in North America (slope is 168 !). Anyone know otherwise ? Mike |
