2019.1 | Couple of Privat/Semi Private Clubs | MAL009::MCNAMARA | | Fri Jun 09 1995 12:20 | 5 |
| Two private courses that you may not have to be put on a waiting list
are Sterling Country Club in Sterling, Ma. and the Marlboro Country
Club in Marlboro (semi-private). Most of the better private clubs have
waiting list or cost big bucks, ie The International in Bolton, or
Nashawtuc in Concord.

2019.2 | Metro-North... | RANGER::GORCZYCA | So, what's ya point? | Fri Jun 09 1995 13:42 | 5 |
| Depending on where you are located in the "metro-Boston" area, Sky Meadow
Country Club in Nashua (on Spitbrook Rd...1/2 mile from ZK...) might be an
option.

2019.3 | Vesper CC | DPE1::LEMAIRE | | Fri Jun 09 1995 14:55 | 13 |
| Also, I heard recently that Vesper CC in Tyngsboro MA no longer has a
waiting list for membership. It is private and the fees are pretty
steep, but the course is beautiful and I never see a crowd on it
(I live 2 miles from it and run/drive by there all the time).
I think initiation is in the $7K - $10K range. Monthly fees are
$300 I think - with a $100 - $150/mo restaurant/bar minimum. I think
they also have a pool and I'm not sure about tennis too. This info
is really second-hand so check with the club if you are interested.
Tyngsboro MA is located between Lowell, MA and Nashua, NH.

2019.4 | A vote for Sterling | SHRCTR::DAVIS | | Fri Jun 16 1995 17:09 | 16 |
| I would highly recommend Sterling CC. It's an excellent course, in
fabulous condition, and more private than Marlboro or Sky Meadow - and a
lot cheaper than Vesper.
There's about a $7K bond (but you can probably negotiate just about any kind
of payment arrangement) and it's around $2100/year, with no restaurant
minimum (yet - that may yet be a possibility). It's also strictly golf; no
tennis/pool/etc.).
You also might find the course reminiscent of some of the Carolina tracks.
(Then again, Sky Meadow might remind you of them, too.)
Good luck,
Tom
PS: Last I heard there was a waiting list at Marlboro. Has that changed?
