2004.0. "Phoenix-your vote counts" by XCUSME::GRAY_J () Thu Apr 06 1995 11:32

    Your vote counts!

    America West is advertising a vacation package for the Phoenix area that I
    am planning on taking with my wife. Because this is her first trip to
    Arizona we will be doing tourist things, HOWEVER we will also schedule
    time for GOLF.

    The package covers some really nice resorts, and we have to pick one.
    This is were your vote will count. It would be very helpful to have
    any information on the following:

    	The Pointe - South Mountain, Squaw Peak and Tapatio Cliffs
    	Scottsdale Princess
    	The Buttes and
    	Regal McCormick Ranch

    We are scheduling the trip for the latter part of May.

    Thanks for your help,

2004.1Not a bad one in the lotPOWDML::ISRAELITEThu Apr 06 1995 11:535
    I don't think you have a bad one here. Any of the Pointe's are nice,
    as is the Buttes. I would steer away from McCormick Ranch, only
    because it is the farther away from the action.

2004.2May's Golf DigestPCBUOA::EHSThu Apr 06 1995 11:5715

    Hello,

    	You should pick up a copy of the May Golf Digest. It has the best
    	courses of each State. Arizona has approx. 20 courses listed as the
    	best (1-20). At least 8 of the 20 are within a 20-30 mile radius of
    	Phoenix. A good majority are public and many courses will send you a
    	score card and other literature if you ask for it. I will be playing
    	The Pointe at South Mountain in January my brother just built a new
    	house on the Tenth Tee.

    	Have fun!

2004.3Drink lots of water!MEMIT::MARCOThu Apr 06 1995 16:537
We were just out in Phoenix for a golf vacation and had a wonderful time. The
princess is truly a beautiful resort (great restaurants and location) and I have
stayed at Squaw Peak Pointe which was very nice.

End of May can be very very warm--so be prepared for temps in the upper 90s.
Have a great time!

2004.4A vote for The PointeSHRMSG::GALVINknockemdownspinemrounheygobowlingMon Apr 10 1995 17:221
It's been many years, but the Pointe would top my list!
2004.5Another vote for the PointeQETOO::BASQUETue Apr 25 1995 16:435
    I'm a little late replying to this, but I don't get a chance at looking
    at the notes file very often now. Its been a few years, but the Pointe
    Tapateio (sp??) is the best Pointe IMHO. If my memory is correct, it has
    a very chanllenging course right there.
