    	OK, Happy New Year Golfers everywhere.
    
    	Now what I need to know are the better courses in the Palm Springs,
    CA area where I won't have to know some celebrity to play, nor a banker
    to cover the greens fees.

I'll tell you what, Greyhawk, if you get me on Medina #2, Butler, 
Chicago GC, I'll get you on any course you want in Palm Springs. Never 
mind... you specified "nor a banker to cover the greens fees."

    Played the Mariott Palm Desert courses (both were nice), and then one
    day at Rancho Mirage (what a 19th hole!!). Had fun, scored OK. New
    metal woods took a few rounds to get used to, but what a difference
    the last round.
    
    If any of you come to Chicago, I have a course at the Gold Club of
    Illinois in Algonquin that will make you swear you are in Scotland.

'zat right? Who designed it, do you know? What's the name? I'm hoping to 
visit the family this summer out in Barrington, and I might like to check 
it out.

    	Typing error - should read The Golf Club of Illinois. It's in the
    town of Algonquin which is just west of Barrington. Let me know when
    you are coming and I'll get up a foursome. This course, as my son would
    say, is awesome!
