1911.0. "Demeret loves Lucy" by ASDG::TREMBLAY () Fri Jun 24 1994 09:38

    	I was flipping channels last night and happened to run across an
    episode of 'I Love Lucy' featuring Jimmy Demeret. It was probably shot
    sometime in the 50's but I'm not sure.
    	Anyway, Ricky and Fred tried to get rid of the wives (while on the
    golf course) by making up a bunch of stupid rules. The guys ended up
    being paired with Demeret in some sort of pro-am and Lucy and Ethel
    turned the tables on them by getting 'in' with Demeret. He actually
    hit a couple of balls during the show and *really* looked smooth.
    	I was pleased to catch this even though I only saw the last 10
    minutes. Ben Hogan did a movie once. I'm pretty sure it was with Dean
    Martin and Jerry Lewis but I don't recall the title.
    	Anyone know of any other movies or sitcoms that have shown some of
    the legends of golf?

    	One thing I forgot to mention in the base note - At the end of the
    show, Jimmy did a 'hop, skip and jump' into his address position, then
    hit the ball.  Pretty wild!!

    hogan's movie was "follow the sun" and it was with (I think)
    glenn ford playing ben hogan...hogan did hit some of the shots
    in the movie but you never saw his face...
1911.3"The Caddy"ASDG::TREMBLAYTue Jun 28 1994 09:064
       The Dean Martin/Jerry Lewis movie was "The Caddy" with Martin being
    the Pro trying to make it on the tour and Lewis his caddy. I think
    Hogan appeared as himself in this one.
