| Truth! There is a new course in Salem. It's called Campbell's Highland Links
(or something close to that). The course is on Brady Ave, off rt 38 near the
Salem/Pelham line (left on Brady if you're heading south on 38). I haven't
played it yet, but a few guys here at NIO played it last Friday (it's only
a couple of miles from here)-- they said it was fairly easy. There's 9 open
now (back nine, I think), 9 more to open in June.
There's also a course being built in Windham, on Londonderry Rd. From the road,
it looks like some fairways are done and maybe a few greens. Looks pretty
hilly. I doubt this course will be ready for play until fall or maybe even
next spring. I'm not even sure if it will be public or private. BTW, this
course was started about 4 or 5 years ago. I think the original developer
had some financial problems as no work was done for a few years. Work was
restarted late last summer.

Yes, the Windham course is planned to open the first 9 holes
late this fall. The other 9 to follow sometime in the summer of
1995. The course will be public. The original builders planned
a private club, but they went bankrupt. New owners changed to
public and have moved ahead on construction. I don't know if
there will be a real clubhouse when it opens, or just several
trailers for the first year. No idea on prices yet.

| I drive by there every morning. I've noticed that homesites are being
sold under the name of Butterfield Estates. My guess that Butterfield
ends up being part of the course's name.

Did you notice the signs yesterday? They've put up signs on the lots along the
road - each sign has a lot number and the name of a "famous" course --
Firestone, Oakmont, Augusta, etc. How quaint...
